[News] Byrne Identity: Inside Look At John Harbaugh, Ozzie Newsome's Special Relationship

Some teams have to endure the detrimental impact of the massive ego of a coach, owner and/or GM. So glad Ravens are drama free from front office theatrics and don't have the egomaniacs which annoy me on some other teams. It's the collective co-operative chemistry of the FO that is the foundation of a Ravens organization that allows our team to produce a highly competitive team year in and year out.

Yes it's true, as fans of a football team we are very blessed to be Raven fans. We play football as good as any in the NFL, and far better than most. We are all here licking our chops waiting for July 29th. Go Ravens !!

Don't shortchange yourself Kevin. I think you are very important to the Ravens, in that our PR department is renowned to be among the best in the business and you lead the charge with your amiability and humility!

The Blame Game "We give them good players. They can't get the best out of them. They can't coach," personnel experts will say. Coaches roar right back: "They expect us to win with these players? You've got to be kidding. We all get fired, and it won't be our fault. These scouts will still be here getting another head coach fired."

It happens.

Yes it does Kevin...... I know you were part of the Cleveland Browns organization, you and Ozzie both...Well on your way.  You should feel Great about what you have done here. And I guess relish in the fact that they haven't been able to address those very issues since you guys left.

The proof is very evident in how the league restocks from our Raven franchise. At one point we were losing Defensive Coordinators to head coaching jobs every year. Now it has flipped to our Offensive Coordinators. We train and coach up quality players and the rest of the league just shovel money at our free agents to bring a little of our Ravens swag to their organization. Cary Williams to Philly, Pollard to Titans, Ihedigbo to Detroit, McPhee to the Bears, Ellerbe to Miami, Torrey to 49'ers, and Cleveland paying out the nose for Kruger. If Trestman can resist the lure of another team for at least another year, then Joe Flacco will definitely blow the doors off the league. This organization is like no other. Excellent article Mr. Byrne, keep it going.

This organization is hands down the best in the league. From ball boy to owner you could not ask for a more talented, motivated, educated, respectful group of individuals. So glad they belong to us. This city this state should never have gone so long without a franchise. Baltimore is a football town,WAIT, sports town (go O's). Go Ravens.

It's always good to hear behind the scenes stories. Management and coaches on the same page, that's why the Ravens are one of the most successful teams in the NFL. Great job Kevin, always look forward to your articles.

When I started playing football, I picked the NFL team that I would support seemingly at random, but with what I see, have seen and read since I picked it up makes me feel blessed, because I know I chose right!

It all starts with the Ownership, Then trickles down to the Front Office. The players are a decision based off the previous listed success!!

32 teams in the nfl and i would suspect that this kind of relation is maybe four or five. but i have to ask if this "family" would be as happy if the Ravens have not made the playoffs 6 of the last 7 years...

To bold town, I believe the whole point of the story, the reason we get to the playoffs and Superbowl for that matter, isn't the reason everyone has class and is humble enough to work together.

But because Oz, Harbs and Steve B. have these attributes and actively practice them, we are blessed with a team that does very well on a consistent basis...!

It's pretty awesome having such continuity, workability, respect for each other, and the team's best interests at the top of everybody's list in our team's front office. It's not just Ozzie and Harbs. It starts with the owner and includes everybody else in the front office. Our Ravens is the best organization in football; maybe even all of professional sports. We fans are blessed.
