And we have been looking for a slot WR for quite some time. This guy is just begging to work the slot. I am already a fan.

if this guy keeps playing the slot like people say he is we can say bye bye to carter and camp. well, one of them might get stashed on I.R, would bode really well for him if he could also return kicks. i thought he was a lock to make the team last year before he got injured.

Torrey had 11 TDs last season, not 8.  That is the only stat I really care about at WR.  I don't care if he didn't get a bunch of yards, the purpose of the offense is to score points, not rack up yardage.  Torrey did that last year.  I like Perriman, I just hope that he is a playmaker and can score a lot of TDs.

Torrey over the course of his career with the Ravens, he's averaged 50recs, 800yds 7.5TDs. If you are simply trying to replace that type of production, then you don't have to do it in the first round. Yes Torrey had 11 Tds last year and nobody's knocking that or Torrey, however for what Torrey did in his overall career with the Baltimore Ravens, you don't have to address the WR position in the first round to replace, that. You address the WR position in the first round to upgrade that. There is a difference. So going back to the original point. Perriman wasn't just drafted because he's a fast guy, he was drafted because the Ravens see potential of him being a overall #1 type WR, not just a splash play maker.

Camp might be on the short end of the stick unfortunately. Since he's been hurt the other wrs are soaking up practice time and excelling. He's likely to be placed on IR so we don't lose him to another team.

That's some great news about Butler, which is always good to hear. He's got the size and apparently the hands to be a complete WR. I'm rooting for him, but not at Marlon's expense. I'm guessing that we'll have an injury or two (always do) and he'll get a chance, much like Torrey did a few years ago. I hope he'll shine!

You're joking right? SSS had a very impressive OTA and mini-camp as well.

He became a nonfactor After mid season and he leads the NFL in drops, John already said he's taking a smaller role, and apparently we have very talented players besides him who need to start(Butler, Aiken, Perriman) so yeah, I'm serious.

i too like waller. and i think a unappreciated part of his game is that he came from a triple option, his primary job was to block downfield for exterior run plays, with our stretch scheme that is a very unheralded trait but it could be a big deal.

i wasnt a big waller fan throughout the draft process as i thought he looked very stiff in what little video i could find on him, but he looks alot more limber in these OTA vids, i mean he looks alot more natural than i expected, id love to see waller, perriman, mad maxx and crockett all pan out, thats just a filthy 22 set

Bro....Great insight!

Wait for Butler and Perriman to take a hit from a top CB/S in preseason gameplay. So far all it's been is kindergarten. Schools about to begin.

If you asked me two weeks ago if I thought Jeremy Butler would make the team, with the already deep WR core that we have, I would say that I didn't even consider it. Now, these reports are making sound like he's the best young WR on the team at the moment. I wish it was a 58 roster limit rather than a 53 lol. Our brass will get it right, though.

I still want to see Marlon cement a spot in this offense for himself. They failed to use him as they should have last year: on the outside, moving the chains, and in the red zone. He's a big target, and has good hands. You don't use a 6'5" guy in the slot. We need a shifty little guy in the slot. They should start Brown and Perriman (if he actually looks ready) on the outside all season in 2015, and rotate Smith Sr., Aiken, and maybe even Butler/Camp in various slot positions. They talked when they first got Sr. last season, early on, like that was exactly where he was going to be, in the slot. He certainly should not be starting every snap like last year, the dude is too old, and absolutely wore down late last regular season.

Marlon is good enough to at least be a #2 on the outside, and we should utilize different guys in the slot, to their strengths, in different formations, different plays.

After seeing Jeremy Butler highlights I am convinced that he will be the starting slot receiver, he's a beast, great route runner, he's shifty, WAY faster than his 40 and has great hands.

It's football, it's not like they haven't taken hits before.  Besides, I think Butler played in a preseason game last year if I'm not mistaken.  But again it's football.

It's NFL football. Faster and tougher. I want these players to make it too. There is the intimidation factor. It can make you take your eye off the ball. I hope they both do well when we play the Eagles and Redskins. That will test their concentration.
