[News] Eisenberg: Much Still Expected Of Ravens' Veterans

12 posts in this topic

I'm excited they are giving Breshad some reps with the first team instead of having him just climb up the depth chart if he does well enough with the second team. He has a skill set not many receivers have with his height 6'2 and speed of 4.2 40 yard dash time. Some have compared him to Dez Bryant and I can see it. And even today Bryant still looks like he runs awkwardly on some routes but he gets the job done. I'm excited to see Breshad play and see what he can do.

either way breshad still has to earn it because after all there are other recivers with more experience out there and with his early struggles he has to be mindful of that even if he's not a starter he will still get those reps like aiken and jeremy butler

Matt Schaub at 33 is not an old QT. He should not be included in the group of aging veterans. Schaub could/can play, staying healthy, another seven or eight years with good O Line protection. Quarterbacks can play into their forties.

TRUE,... very true!  :P

Plus, we want Joe to be just midway into hitting his stride when he's 33 years old,... not shuffled off to be someone's Back-up!

He's been getting better at playing his position, understanding his strengths and limitations better!

The INT he threw to end our drive in Foxborough was NOT the play a smart, seasoned QB makes no matter how some folks like to explain it away as sound! :oldwiseman:

Unfortunately it looks convincing to me.  Another Lee Evans play to effectively end the season.

I've posted that a couple times, and I don't want to seem like I'm piling on wit the Torrey hate that seems to have popped up on the forums, but in this case, that interception was on him. If he goes up to make a play on the ball, it's a TD, PI or incomplete pass at the very least.

The only issue I have with the play is whether or not it was wise to go for the score with so much time on the clock, given the way the secondary was shredded in the second half. I understand that you want to take te score when you can get it, but it might have been better to milk the clock a little more.

This article may be about the veterans, but I liked reading about Perriman's situation too. Him getting so many reps, running with both the first And second team seems like it can only help him. The more reps, the better. We want this kid to develop and the best way for that to happen is to keep him on the field, at this point, as much as possible. I am really hoping that he is the real deal and I think that he Will be at some point. The sooner, the better.
