[News] Late For Work 6/15: Ravens Reporter Goes Behind Enemy Lines With Steelers' Coach Tomlin

23 posts in this topic

I know that the #GiveaSpit cause is very worthy of mentioning.........but that was 5 pictures too many of Tomlin that I did not need to see today. I used to give him some credit, and even had some respect for him, until that episode with Jacoby Jones happened! I lost ALL respect for him then, with that sly grin on his face....ugh! :th_thimpatient:  I can't wait for mini camp to start....and then pre-season. Get the pads on and see what these guy's can really do!!!

I hate Mike Tomlin so much. I can't wait to destroy the Steelers the week Bell comes back. Let's hope they start 0-4. Not a fanbase I hate more than Pitt.

We will deal with unpopular people who support a good cause. It's the cause not the person. NEVER give up your Ravens gloves for a Steeler fans terrible towel. It could be fatal.

Steelers fans have over reacted to their success since the 70's. It is not a real surprise when you consider that they only had 8 winning seasons in their first 39 years.

I'm really pulling for KLM and Urban. They were both crushing it last year in camp before their injuries. Imagination is worse than the real thing, so I still cringe when I think about the article I read describing what happened to KLM and the screaming.... I wish you both nothing but the best this year starting with health. Wow if we can get through camp without significant injury, look out.

And the non - catch in the endzone the last superbowl they "won"

I can see supporting the cause, and a picture or two of Tomlin, but I do agree that 5 pictures was a little more than was necessary to support the cause.  I think a link to Nestor's Twitter account would be sufficient and if I wanted to see more, I would go look.  Shoving a bunch of pictures of a smirking Mike Tomlin on the "Late for Work" page made me not finish reading what was after that and I went straight to the comments where I found a number of like souls who were turned off by the content.

I think Tomlin taking time like that is pretty admirable and I actually gained some respect for the guy. Come October 1st @ 8:25 that all goes out the window and I'll hate him as I always have.

When I read "Defensive Coordinator Dean Pees is impressed by the younger Ravens defense, but some issues must be resolved" I thought that was a quote from Pees, but it was just Preston trying to get people to read his column. It's actually a good article, but it's things any fan that regular visits this site would know. The only thing I didn't like was he said Suggs and Dumervil played well last season. Well? These two were two of the most feared pass rushers in the league and they played well. I know he is just trying to push someone's buttons when he writes things like that, but it's still annoying.

Take away the steroids and they have only a few......

Even though I didn't like Tomlin cheated to go on the football field and tried to slow down Jacoby on that Thanksgiving game, I respect Tomlin way better than Belichick. At least Tomlin has more class we his team lost the game while Belichick doesn't even want to talk to the media when he loses. Hate Belichick. :)

I donate time and money to cancer and ALS. Cancer runs in family. But then support for any cause is a good thing.

"Only Smith has more than two years of experience."

And besides Aiken who just turned into a starter last season and has been in the league for like 4(?) years, holy moly! I know we're all excited for our young, talented receiving corps (I am too), but I'm really hoping these guys can catch up to game time speed *fingers crossed* Knowing how much Flacco loves sure receivers who run crisp routes and know where to be, our collective WR inexperience may definitely bring some growing pains...we'll see though! Still excited to see what these younguns bring!

going to practice for 4 years doesnt count.

Last season's 18 games as a Ravens receiver are the only ones on his resume.

Of course it counts.  The only things that are unable to count are you and maybe Hensley.  Remember "they also serve who only stand and wait" (On Blindness by John Milton - d1674)

You should be used to it by now. How many Late For Work's thumbnails or articles have pictures of or about the steelers? ALOT. Especially when Sarah writes em.

I hope our rookies all watch how SSS practices and preps for games. It has worked for him for all those years. SSS is a Raven and he plays with intensity and passion. I would also like to see R.Lewis and E.Reed become assistant coaches on game film study for the rookies pay both of them to teach the rookies how to watch and study game film that would be some of the best money Biscotti could spend.

no it doesnt. Practice and Games are called two different things for a reason.

You dont get to count college as four years of professional experience on your resume when you apply for a job. Football is no different.

Aiken has 4 years of practice. 1 year of experience.

No 26  year old with 4 years of actual experience signs a contract for 600K.

You are wrong in so many ways it's useless to argue with you.  You have fallen and are now among the conquered.
