I am telling everyone. Boyle is Massive! and very quick for a guy his size. I see him doing big things in Baltimore.

The ravens have their future TE group. Use Pitta sparingly and let him retire next year. Give the young guys the reps to improve. Don't risk his health when we have this much talent at TE. Huge Pitta fan. Would love to see him literally walk away from football healthy and enjoy his life with his family. You earned your SB ring already and may get a second this year. No need to risk it.

What a great group of young players at TE. Mostly, what a great problem it is for the Ravens to have so much talent to chose from and build upon. Some potential beasts in this mix.

if trestman keeps the running game like last year instead of short passes to the backfield like chicago did, with our O-line gillmore and boyle at TE, forsett may easily reach 1500 yards running... so many possibilities on offense this year men...

If the super glue doesn't hold on Pitta's hip guess who's number gets called? Work TE  Nick just as hard as TE Maxx. Find out all we can and use each player accordingly. It's all about Super Bowl 50.

If Pitta is healthy and ready for contact, it will be hard to keep 4 TE's. Especially if all the WR's have a great camp. Someone good is going to get cut. Great problem to have.

I think Pitta's a liability here with his questionable health and durability! I say go with the "Kid's Movement"!

I would hate to let sentimentality enter into the equation and we keep Pitta only to have him go down, again and for good, while the TE we released turns into a bona fide "Beast"! :oldwiseman:

Pitta is very good. PERIOD!!! There is always going to be a question about how strong his hip is after 2 repairs on it? The second time he hurt it there was no contact he just caught the ball took a couple steps then pulled up lame and went to the turf. I hope Pitta is good to go but I dont want to see us release a good TE only to find out Pitta cant play any more. Dont get me wrong I am pulling for Pitta all the way I just think we need to be very cautious...

I really liked this pick. I am excited to see what Boyle can bring to the team. He is big, and athletic and seems to be able to not just get open but appears to have to tools to be able to move the chains (and block). Excited to see what Boyle can bring to the table!

Ravens are going to keep Pitta, Gilmore, Boyle, and Williams even if it mean 4 TEs on the roster. Last year they started the season with 7 WRs and during the season 6 safeties. Ravens keep the best 53 period. I expect that Pitta may start on the PUP list. The key will be can Boyle be a back up FB or make contributions on Special Teams. You don't want to keep a guy around that is inactive on game day.

TE position is loaded. The first time since Todd Heap and Older but still great HOF Shannon Sharpe that TE has been so loaded. Pitta is a? ?? But all signs point to him playing. But even without Pitta we have a no.1 WR TE Maxx Williams, we have a heath miller type vicious blocker/3rd down and long converter type 10-15 yrd guy with Gilmore. Then we have Boyle this big 270lb athlete with a lot of potential as both a blocker and WR, maybe another Gronk type if he reaches his ceiling. So we are loaded anyway you slice it at TE

One player isn't going to replace three. Three players can replace one. Put Pitta on PUP or play sparsely. Give lots of reps to Gilmore, Williams and Boyle. Baptism under fire. If one of these tight ends doesn't pan out, bring Pitta in full time after Thanksgiving.

wouldn't be surprised at all of Pitta participates in training camp, from the film i saw, he could run routes, block, as well as do drills with his hips....

When everything is said and done, we'll end up with the best stable of TEs in the entire NFL. Better than every other team including the Pats.

And in a system that utilizes them as much as can be expected at least. With all the potential weapons on offense... gonna be tough getting the ball to everyone. Nice problem to have for a change

I would really like to see more videos or longer clips of the TEs and WRs. Maybe the Ravens don't want to put much footage out there for other teams to see???? If that's not an issue, like if there's a lot of video at media days anyway, please give a bit more video of multiple catches per player rather than mostly just have to read about it. The videos that are on the website are great and I think fan interest in this year's players is higher than ever. Keep the videos coming.

Well... there's no place on the 53-man roster for any player who would only play "sparsely" - even if it's Pitta (my favourite current Raven since Heap) - roster palces are like gold duing the season. Only players who can regularly contribute - at special teams if nothing else - have a place there. And Harbaugh would most certainly not put Pitta to ST duties...

So, Pitta will wirther be put on the roster and be on the field like there was no injury concern, or be put on the PUP or IR roster.

As for the two rookies... TE is a position where even the best rookies usually find it notoriously hard to acclimate for the NFL. Yoiu seldom find rookie TE's having a monster season. Rookie TE's seldom land on the top of the depth charts if it can be avoided. And thats not about the guys - its about the position. Even if both Maxx Williams and Boyle turn out to be the guys Ozzie was hoping when he picked them, it may not be sooner than their sophomore season. Just take a look at Pitta's rookie season, for example... Or last season's undisputed top TE, Ebron. He had a rather forgettable rookie season - and many say it's not because he's a bust or he's not the athlete he was heralded to be - simply TE's typically take time to acclimate in the NFL - while other positions, especially RB and more and more WR produce genuine plug-n-play guys - TE does not. I'm therefore not at all sure it would be fair of us to expect Maxx Williams take on the top TE's dusties right from the start - I would even say not this season. Not because I don't trust him or think he cant be our Next Big Weapon - but he may need time for that - just like new TE's typically do in the NFL.

It's probably in the best interest of the team, so I blame nobody here, but these camp videos are usually pretty non-informative - only showing guys make one brief move, one catch or pass, or doing drills... Kind of makes you yearn for more...

But hey, I can understand the organization not wanting to show more. It's business secrets, after all...
