[News] Terrence Brooks Ahead Of Schedule, Playing With Starters

56 posts in this topic

Awesome news that Brooks is ahead of schedule and almost fully recovered but I could have sworn that the front office stated he was going to start the season on the PUP.  The article leads us to believe he's on schedule to return week 1.

he has the tools and the talent and if his mind is right he will be a force in the near future.

I know that every year guys are out there competing to win a spot on the roster. For some reason, this year it seems like the competition is amped up a notch with more quality players who have a chance to not just make the roster but to win starting roles. Feels so different this year to witness an abundance of high caliber candidates on offense as well, like the WR and TE talent fighting for starting roles. Is it just me or do you other folks also feel that this off season seems so much more exciting to follow? It's been fun for me to watch this 2015 team taking shape.

It's great he's ahead of schedule, but hope they don't allow him to rush back. We need him completely recovered, ready to go for the next few years included.

It'll be a tough battle at safety, especially if Brooks is ready to take a roster spot. If he is ready then I don't think there's room for Trawick, even if we carry 5 I would take Levine over him because of his versatility.

You said it Salamander. This year is going to be fun to watch for sure. I can remember when we had so many holes to fill before the draft then Oz has his draft and we end up with a couple big bodied WR's the best rated TE coming into the draft. Oz gets us a Safety and a DB in Lewis and Arrington plus the team is pretty much healthy as a whole. It is just going to be fun to watch.

@757ravensfan...Maybe they are but these OTA's don't count in that respect. We will find out once training camp starts. If he practices during camp then he cannot be placed on the PUP list.

I'd like to see Terrence Brooks get into the rotation and get a bunch more snaps this year!

Perhaps 2016 will be his "break out" year! We see our LBs in their 4th year strut their stuff, why not Brooks in 3?

Yup,.. that's the Motto: "BROOKS IN THREE!"  :baltimore-ravens:

i am a brooks fan, i wanted him in the SECOND round of the draft last year, i was ecstatic to get him in the 3rd, but after seeing him for nearly a year, i am not sure where his natural position is, he played cb for most of his football career, switched to FS his senior year, was a stud at both positions at the college level, but he seemed to excel in the nickel and SS/hybrid role. he honestly reminds me alot of will hill. idk where he ends up but i think before his rookie deal is up he becomes a huge cog in this rebuilding defense

Lewis is under contract for three years and Hill is in the final year of his contract and is an UFA next year so if either Brookes or Elam can step up and prove they belong on the field there could conceivably be a spot for one of them. If not, Elam may be gone and they may resign Hill and I look for Brookes to get one more shot and he will be done too. I would love for our homegrown guys to step up and take the role but if not, we won't be hurting unless the injury bug reaches out and grabs us by the ACL or something even worse.

Sounds good for now. Take it slow when full contact camp starts. Brooks is the future, don't ruin it. Have a great and healthy year and career.

The missed INT in New Orleans was simply him being a rookie. He was in position which was huge and a lot more than you can ever say about Elam.

We have solid competition at all the positions, training camp should be interesting this year.....A lot of players that don't make the cut, i feel will no doubt end up on another teams roster, that's how talented i feel this 90 man roster is......

Good point.  And Levine had some flashes in 014

Agreed. I can not recall an off season where so many positions are over filled with talent

This kid has a lot of potential and is really fast. I see him as a back up this year which is good for him...another year of seasoning will help him when (if) he finally starts.

nice..... the talent is clearly there and when brooks learns the game (like he was speaking of) his ceiling can be very high. I am very excited about brooks and what he will bring to this team in the future!

I'm pulling for you Mr. Brooks, hope all goes well for you. Sometimes God has to sit you down, so you can stand upright. Maturity starting to factor in. Be Blessed.
