[News] 6/3 News & Notes: Wide Receivers Shine

63 posts in this topic

i like Aiken i stated this the first game i saw him as a raven. I could see him filling the roll that Boldin left behind when he was traded. Do i think he will match production perfectly probably not, i dont think anyone could match what boldin brought his whole career. but i think he has the tools to fill that roll moving forward. and i think Aiken's ability as a possession receiver for joe fits what joe is looking for as a receiver. no one ever says anything about it neither does Joe, but Joe performs better with possession WR/TEs then he does with speed receivers. Just like when pitta was healthy, Joe targeted him and Boldin in the tough yard situations. As i see him doing the same with many of our WR/TE especially Aiken, but also including Max Williams if he can live up to the potential. Just my thought, i feel like our TE and WR core is probably in better situation then most teams at this point in time. Hell id take ours over Seattles right now that hasnt lost anyone Post Superbowl loss to the patriots.

Saw that Deep bomb on video from Flacco to Perriman other day. Cant wait to see that on gameday. That and Darren Waller...Twin Towers in the making

With some luck a receiver needy team will have an embarrassment of riches at Cornerback or Pass Rusher come training camp. Maybe Butler would be good trade bait. Either way, we'll have a helluva receiving corps this year. You thought Flacco was doing elite ish? Check this out!

I hope SSS stays at least 1 more year and gives all our younger guys 2 years of playing and practicing with a all pro. SSS is a true Raven and this year he is not going to have the jitters in the first game like he did against the Bengals last year.

it's a great luxury having alot of great ball catchers,it's just gonna come down to who stays healthy through trainning camp.OZZIE finally can say he can get reciever's too.wish a couple of them would switch over and help out over with the DB'S.

Nice to hear Elam making some plays in the passing game. Hope he makes that leap this year.

We'll know much more about Elam when the pads come on. He needs to show significant improvement wrapping guys up in the open field and getting receivers out of bounds. It's definitely a confidence thing. When you look at how confidently CJ Mosley moves in when he's made up his mind to take someone down, he does not miss. We need Elam to be the same way this year, or he can't be trusted in the playoffs again.

Good to know that when we get SSS the ring he deserves, and he rides off into the purple sunset a winner, Aikan, Brown and Perriman will be carrying the flag. Bring on September please.

Boom baby! My boy Aiken gettin it done .. Never doubted him for a second. Some people are worried about the recieving corps and think we need to add another vet- I wouldn't complain if we did- but I think the money would be better spent elsewhere, particularly a pass rusher .

Good to hear WRs performing. Hopefully everyone stays healthy so we can see these guys work together and grow during the season.

As far as the West Coast Trips... Stay out West the Extra Week both times... Book a Hilton or whatever 5 Star Hotel Footballplayers stay at when on road trips... And Mr B wouldnt mind taking care of the extra expense if its beneficial to the teams Success.

"Perriman consistently explodes off the line of scrimmage, even when pressed."

I love the fact that I keep seeing stuff like this. From his college scouting report, to rookie camp, and now OTAs, I keep reading about how Perriman does not get slowed down by press coverage, which is something that our receivers have often struggled with.

Since the draft, I've only heard people talking about how we have more talented receivers than we have roster spots. I think all the weapons we got in the draft silenced the requests for another vet.

You are right chuchu, Ravens are really tearing it up this spring; in OTAs we're undefeated and I fully expect that to continue. Like your enthusiasm; pour yourself another glass of Kool-Aid.

How in the heck some people on this site actually think Aiken is on the bubble to make the team is beyond me. They obviously didn't pay attention to what he did last year.

How do you tear a quad in a practice at wide receiver? Man, this team has some bad luck with injuries.

Usually by over-training your hamstring. Quad can't fire as quickly to keep up with that jacked up hammy and you tear it running full speed.

In some ways it is frustrating to keep hearing we have a gazillion world class receivers. I know we won't be able to keep them all and i don't know who to root for!

Aiken is going to be a household name. Do you know why? Because he'll be a fantasy football star! If you are good at racking up fantasy points in this day and age, you go to the probowl. Not otherwise regardless of how great you are. Case in point - Joe Flacco.

The best news: Not a report on drops from Perriman.

Love it! Let's see how well he does with pads against defenders from other teams. Not doubting him...just saying.
