[News] Timmy Jernigan Aiming For Pro Bowl Invitation

18 posts in this topic

We're all thinking it so I'll just say it... ideally he wants to be invited to the Pro Bowl and be forced to not attend due to prior committments - namely practice for the Super Bowl the following week.

In his presser, he's right he and Brandon Williams, Canty, all of them have a great advantage in going against Yanda and Osmele in practice. Hopefully, getting rough with these two will get them boys ready for anything that's out there. For me, Yanda is next best thing to the Incredible Hulk.

Sounds like a man possessed. Or maybe it's just a man who wants to possess a Super Bowl ring, a pro bowl invitation, and the fear of all the running backs he will face.

Jernigan will terrorize the front line of opposing offenses game in and game out. He is the quintessential pitbull! Timmy "Pitbull" Jernigan! How do you guys like it?

From someone that has 2 pitbulls... I always thought of Yanda as the pitbull. Goes against most thoughts of the breed but when playing, I've seen mine smack his head on the table HARD and act like nothing happened but can't see that title sticking to Yanda so I'll go with whatever the mass agrees to.

The benefit for Jerrigan reaching that goal is that everyone will be watching to see how we fair without Ngata, if we maintain or improve somehow... he should get recognition.

I actually think Brandon Williams said he was like a pitbull if I'm not mistaken. So, if the guy beside him thinks of him as a pitbull, then I think he must be a 'pitbull'!

However, I'm cool with having 'pitbulls' on either side of the team. Yanda is our offensive 'pitbull' and Jernigan our defensive one! Nice compromise eh?

Here is the Brandon Williams quote:

“He’s a straight-up pit bull. He just keeps coming at you,” Williams said. “He’s so quick with his hands and feet that he stuns guys. I even see it in practice during one-on-ones. He goes by them like they’re standing still.”

Great stuff, thanks.

He will succeed. As far as an invitation to a pro bowl, only 16 games and playoffs could trigger that discussion.

He reminds me a lot of Arthur jones. I like the desire he's showing to be great. Our defense has had a lot of greats. There is a standard of play we aspire to have and the past couple years have been subpar. Have a feeling if this secondary can stay healthy our defense has some strong potential to be one of the best defenses in the league.

Shut up and play. Every time I hear a guy talk like that they eventually fad away like a fart in a breeze.

Lighten up Francis.

He was asked that question at a press conference for which the team made him available, and he gave an honest answer. It's not like he sought out a reporter and started spouting off at the mouth.
