[News] Justin Forsett Even Hungrier Than Last Year

40 posts in this topic

i think he has 1 more good year left in him..sadly no running back over the age of 31 has ever had back to back 1000 yard seasons. Its a shame he isn't 25. He could have been a real star in this league for many years.

Justin you went from the bottom to the top in one year. People say when your on the bottom the only way is up. You not only went up but you went all the way to the top.

How can Forsett be a fluke? Late bloomer? Sure! Fluke? Absolutely not! The bottom line is he never had an opportunity to showcase his talent for a full year till last year. But, if you look at his YPC numbers when he had an opportunity, its always been stellar. This year will prove why he may be the best and most elusive RB in the league!

Man did you guys see that Joe Flacco video hitting those receivers with ease. It's going to be a great year.

Somehow even if Trestman keeps the core of last year's offense intact Forsett is poised to take a step back. He had gaping holes under Kubiak but our competition is going to adjust and so is our playbook under Trestman regardless of what's put out there. Forsett doesn't create on his own . doesn't make defenders miss, and is not in the business of breaking tackles and trucking defenders. I see Taliaferro making his mark as defenses adjust and the RB duties get physically demanding.

Wasn't Bernard Pierce announced the day 1 starter b/c of Rice's suspension?

Pierce then was hurt in the 2nd game of the season and then Forsett took it

from there??

That maybe true for RB's that have consistently started each year throughout their careers by age 31. Forsett has mostly been a backup throughout his career and he doesn't have as much wear and tear on his body, so hopefully that will work in his favor to sustain him for a couple of years longer.

I am so happy for Forsett. He is a Raven he plays like a Raven and he has the heart of a Raven. Guy outperformed most peoples expectations last season. I am happy he will be the leading RB in our backfield this year.

He's the "Alpha Dawg" of the RBs so I'd expect Justin to make a great effort at repeating his great season last year!

If he has honed his receiving skills, no telling what he's capable of!

In going back and looking at the season on GameRewind, it really wasn't until week 4 against the Panthers that Forsett really locked down the starting role. Then about week 12 or so he was running out of gas and put up some pretty pedestrian numbers. So there REALLY is some meat left on the bone in this instance as far as Forsett being able to improve on his numbers. Actually, if you look what Trestman did with Forte in the backfield in Chicago, Forsett better get ready to at least double if not triple his receiving yards on top of the extra yards he will get on the ground. With Forsett locking down the starting role, the return of our offensive starters and Trestmans history of throwing to the back out of the backfield, it is not outrageous to think Forsett could have 2000 yards from scrimmage this year if he holds up.

Looking good Flacco to Perriman conection, that bomb was incredible and perriman totally burned his man

That was Arrington getting burned. Good news for Perriman; Bad news for Arrington.

Butler made at least three catches on that video. Don't count him out. By all measures be was doing better than Aiken in the team releases last camp and was redshirted. We are going to have some really tough decisions to make this year. Watch the video again and see Butler keep catching.

The Forsett deal was easily the best value move we've made in recent memory. Eight years spent honing his craft while not wearing his body out or getting injured, and now we get to throw two young backs into the mix to learn from his technique and work ethic. Forsett's shiftiness and elusiveness are sorely underrated. Trestman has got to be pleased with the three guys he has to work with. Oh, and let's not forget about Juice. I see some seriously good chemistry brewing between the three young guys and the elder statesman that's just now hitting his prime. As it stands right now, our entire team looks so well-rounded. Primed to take the entire AFC. Another pass rusher would be nice, but I'm expecting Upshaw to turn into a freak this year. Now just get Yanda and Tucker extended!

The Forsett deal was sweet, but if Lewis pans out, his 3 yr/5.4 mil deal could be a real steal...Since all 3 years are not guaranteed....

After watching a couple of highlights of the OTAs one guy seems to be on it more than once, and thats Jeremy Butler. I believe he will get his opportunity to play and even make the team.

This year i don;t see to many camp bodies, every player on the 90 man roster has a legit shot at making the 53 man roster or PS...WR we are stacked, CB's we are stacked, Safeties we are stacked, O-linemen we are stacked, D-Linemen we are stacked, RB's we are stacked, TE we are stacked......Only position where we aren't stacked is ILBer....

I hope forsett can give us another 1100 or 1200 yards this year. that give buck and talifero another season to develop and by that point.... Forsett is cresting over 30 and as his production starts to diminish-buck and LT will be ready to carry the load! We need one more good year out of Forsett.... hopefully he is still productive long beyond that but one more big year!
