[News] Slimmed Lorenzo Taliaferro Wants To Shed Label

38 posts in this topic

I think br.com should start a "53 watch" feature to see whose stock is rising and falling. With all these features on guys in backup roles having really good offseasons and exciting rookies from the mid-to-late rounds, coupled with what happened to guys like John Simon last year, it'd be nice for us fans to have a tangible understanding of who we could risk losing to cuts or plucks away from our practice squad.

I liked Taliaferro a lot but that fumble against Pitt still stings. Truthfully though, any decent RB will excel behind our offensive line. Ask Forsett.

Im wondering if we need to add another experienced WR. SSS is 36 and if he goes down with an injury for any period of time... or if Perriman would get an injury... our passing game could take a serious step backwards. I know we have promising young WRs in Marlon and Kamar and Camp, Carter, etc... but they are unproven (as far as taking over as a # 1 or #2 Wr). This is the only position that an injury to a starter really scares me at????

Yes we do... Preferably one that can also return kicks as well. Don't think Camps gonna cut it.

@thecommish you can't think like that. They will be healthy for this year. Guys we we can't keep thinking what if the Wrs get hurt, what if such and such get hurt stop being downhill. If it happens it happens. Y'all can't keep worrying about if every position to get hurt think positive guys. :)

If we dumped every Rookie RB for 1 fumble, we'd still have "Bam" Morris as the #1 Back!  :lol3:

That fumble will be used as a "teaching moment" in young Lorenzo's career!

If he does it more frequently, then I could support your statement, in retrospect!  :sherlock:

His fumble in Pitsburgh should not be counted against him. The article should concentrate on his physical  changes and his impressive attitude.  It appears the author blamed only him for the Pittsburgh loss and thats not the case..A momentum change could be acceptable but  our team wins and loses together.

i dont want him to want the #2 spot, i want buck and him both to want the #1 spot, even if they dont take it, that shows putting in 110% effort for the team

I agree with you 100%. You're absolutely right. They should both want and be trying to earn the #1 spot. That is 100% effort. Sorry I can't agree with you any more than 100%, though. You see, that's just something that's always kind of bugged me. While I certainly know what you, and others, mean when they pick an arbitrary number above 100%, the fact is 100% IS really All Anyone can give. That's all they have To give, 100%. There just, in reality, isn't any more than 100%. That's the max, man, 100%. Really, I'm 100% sure about this. But, honest, friend, I'm 100% with you on this. I like your way of thinking. Aim for the top. ALWAYS. Please don't take offense. None is intended. Like I said, it has just always been a pet peeve of mine. No harm, no foul, I hope, fellow Ravens fan.

In regards to LT's fumble, yeah it came at a horrible time, but really, All fumbles stink. If he earns himself more carries and shows ball security to be a problem, well, then, yes, that's just what it is, a problem. But, to put a guy in the "dog-house", or label him a "fumbler" as soon as he has his first fumble, well, that just means that every RB that ever played in the NFL is a fumbler. Maybe there has been some RBs that have Never had a fumble, but I'm not aware of any. Maybe LT, with more carries will fumble often enough to not be trusted with the ball. But, maybe the opposite could turn out to be true as well. He may have even had one more fumble, I don't know. I kind of think he did, but I just don't trust my memory anymore. Nevertheless, I don't think that LT has had enough carries in the NFL to judge him in that capacity. His, being against our hated rivals, stung more than most just because it Was against the Squealers. But, come on, really, anybody who watched that game knows that one play is Not why we lost that game. Give the guy a break. He's a Raven, and as such, we should throw our support his way as long as he is. I, for one, do not hold that fumble against him any more than I do Forsett's fumble/fumbles last season. I'm just trying to say that LT has Not had enough carries to be labeled a "fumbler." It will take a lot more carries for that to be able to be determined.
