[News] Will Hill 'Light-Years' Ahead Of Last Year

51 posts in this topic

If he plays even better than last season that just makes that secondary that much more scary to throw against. This guy is a monster every where on the field.

What more can you ask for. Here is a player who screwed up big time and could have developed an attitude and fought the establishment. Instead he chose to become part of it. To become a fixture in Owings Mills, to bring along the younger players and develop relationships with all of them. To work out when others rested, to study while others vacationed and when he vacationed he vacationed with other members of the secondary. He didn't choose to stroll in with the coaches here so they could see him, he chose to beat them into the building. Kudos to the front office for taking a chance on a guy they felt could turn it around and because they did, he will be not only a better player for it, but a better person and member of the community as well. Kudos to Will Hill for being a good person, a role model and a man who is living and playing like a Raven.

This year with Arrington, Lewis and Vaughn with Webb and Smith healthy this Secondary is utterly different then the maimed and injured crew we offered in 014.  He will naturally be better. .

If Hill is even better and Jimmy and Webb are healthy are secondary are going to go from weakness to strength. And there's so much competition for that other safety spot that surely someone is going to step up, Elam might even surprise us.

At first I didn't like Will Hill number but to come to think about it we should call Will Hill and Kendrick Lewis "THIRTY THREE, TWENTY THREE" I like that nickname. :)

A few weeks ago Will was asking us what his uniform number should be. I now suggest zero. Zero TDs scored against. Zero opposition ball carriers getting past him. And last but not least zero off-field issues. (recall it was several prior drug infractions on his part that got him dropped from the Giants and gave us the opportunity to get him on our team)

Everytime we have a weakness, within a year Ozzie turns it into a strength. I think he's done it again.

I believe in Will Hill No Doubt about it. I believe in you brother.... I just don't trust the light years quote after it was tagged on Elam and Arthur Brown last year.. they were light years ahead but yet weren't up to speed... Real Deal Will let's go. I believe

I only read a couple of paragraphs of this before I just began grinning widely! I said, last year, that this guy was a "steal" when many here were still touting Elam, et.al.

:D Here he comes,... and, I hope he's here to stay!

Yes I believe Hill gets an extension. Sounds like head is in right place and he likes what the Ravens bring as an Organization.

So does Oz take a gamble and get him signed now to a extension, or wait, and if he has a great season lose him to FA???

Can't wait to actually see Hill and Jimmy Smith play at the same time. Two talented guys that are huge for the secondary.

If this group can stay healthy, they will be a very tough secondary.

Stay clean, Will. Sky's the limit.

I'll admit to being one that was still touting Elam - but my thoughts were that Elam understandably struggled trying to play over the top at safety and I wanted to see him play his SS position. I was also of the mind that Hill was going to turn out to be a steal, but I was expecting he was going to replace Stewart (who I wasn't terribly impressed with) in that position when he arrived.

With Lewis in town and Hill looking like the real deal, I feel like we're looking pretty good. It could really be that Elam won't even get much of a chance to prove himself at this point.

I expect to see a totally different Elam this year, when he came in, he was basically handed the starting job, now he will be fighting for PT.....

Look what when a positive environment do to Hill; he turns his life 360 and becomes a role model, good teammate, a hard working player, and good father. A great lesson in life....go Ravens!!

Getting drafted by the Ravens or signed as a FA is like going to Military school, bad behavior is not tolerated, high expectations, and high standards.....No free rides you earn what get....

Will Hill is only 25 and to hear how he's dedicated himself to be a better person and football player really makes you want to see him succeed.  All of us made mistakes in our early 20s.  Glad to see that Hill is learning from his mistakes and not taking his talent and opportunity for granted.

This guy is going to be the best safety in the league this year and will sign a multi year deal with the Ravens before long! I assure you.
