[News] Bulked Up Crockett Gillmore Ready For More Catches

60 posts in this topic

Two TE sets? Go back and watch those late season games, especially the Steelers and Pats games in the playoffs. This is what the line looked like from left to right...

Daniels-Hurst-Osemele-Zuttah-Urschel-Yanda-Gilmore-Juszczyk --> Aiken wide

Remember Munroe and Wagner were out so Yanda volunteered to kick out to RT and keep Urschel under his wing?

Count that. Thats 8 blockers with our thickest WR motioning to chip the edge.

You watch those games and it seems like we average a good 8-9 yards a carry outta that heavy set.

Now consider we just added a 270 lb blocking TE in Boyle and are getting a 275 lb Gilmore back, with Maxx Williams and Juice.

Kubiak basically taught us how to legally have 8 offensive linemen on any given snap who can fool you and become 5 TEs/WRs in a second.

Wow. Physics is on his side if he kept his speed the same. (Momentum = Mass x Velocity) and (Force= Mass x Acceleration) In layman's terms... He is a very large human, linebackers and safeties better think twice lol

I'm with Mink on his assessment that this guy will be the X-factor that no one has been talking about who is going to step up. All the talk is about the new guys, like Williams, but it takes time for guys to get in sync and get used to the speed of the game.

Doubters will point to his low production last year, but he wasn't called upon to do much and most of his production came late in the season. I think he is the #1 TE target for Flacco through most of the year.

@reed20fence woah I never though of it that way 2 TEs (Nick Boyle and Crockett Gillmore) that are 270 pounds yikes that scary image what those two do in the running game along with a beast o line my goodness. Forsett must be licking his chops he probably get 6 or 7 yards per carry this year.

@RRRRRAVENS I really don't know Davy Crockett but I like Jiminy better in my opinion. :)

David "Davy" Stern Crockett (August 17, 1786 – March 6, 1836) was a 19th-century American folk hero, frontiersman, soldier, and politician. He is commonly referred to in popular culture by the epithet "King of the Wild Frontier". He represented Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives, served in the Texas Revolution, and died at the Battle of the Alamo.

275 ? That's Gronk like. Get this guy the ball and let him now guys down. I know its early and this TE crew is young but man, sure sounds like the best TE group in the NFL.

I'm mad they want me to think Upshaw is only 275...

Crockett is four inches taller than Upshaw, he might look thicker, but height is also a factor.

As a matter of facts, there are whole lots of people not making to NFL and even making to NFL they didn't last long when most of them football is all they have. I respect those who work the hardest to gain 1 in of improvement. Gilmore is one of them and I envision he will set his new record of blocking and receiving stats this year.....

Where do the Ravens find these gentle man giants? This guy is going to become an unstoppable beast and one of the more complete tight ends in the game! Just watch. We keep saying Maxx Williams' name, but Crocket Gillmore is the name that will resonate in the end! By the way, look at the names of these TEs we have: Crockett Gillmore, Maxx Williams, Nick Boyle and Dennis Pitta! Right out of the avengers comic books!

i've been high on Crocket Gillmore since last year and i know right now a lot of people on here are drinking the kool aid on Maxx Williams, but i'm going to say it again that Crocket is the future and Maxx/Boyle are just supplements to him.

If Gilmore is 275, than he is the same height and weight as Gronk. 6' 6'' and 275 at tight end is monstrous, no one will be able to stop Gilmore. I can't wait to see Pitta or Williams line up opposite of Gilmore, what a sight it will be to see them breaking out of a huddle with Forsett, S.Smith and Perriman lined up around them.

Without a doubt this guy will become a Flacco favorite. Williams and Gilmore will be a whole lot to handle. Pitta may end up as the third TE even if he is healthy. Boyle is good insurance should Pitta go down however.

I can see a real "war" breaking out between the TE's and the WR's if all these guys get a chance to play and stay healthy which group scores the most TD's.

One thing is the attitude. I admire that. Work hard, stick your nose in it and prove yourself by what you do, not what you say. Going into the league with "block first" mentality is also handy, as most guys want to be the flashy, "I got yards and TDs" guy. This gets him noticed. And I am really excited about who comes out on top in the TE competition. Even with a healthy Pitta, if he is that, it could be either Gilmore, Williams or Pitta on top.

With a good offensive coordinator our offense will be hard to stop with guys like Gilmore,Pitta, Marlon Brown, Waller and Max Williams in on red zone offense.

He prooved his skills last year.  Boyle and Wiliams have to adjust to NFL intensity. ....I'm sure they will. Right now its Gils job to take.

Gilmore has an in-game attitude, can't remember the game or player but I believe he got up in someone's face during a game last year

I think it was against the Steelers in the playoffs. Forgot his name, but I remember him hitting Gilmore on the helmet and Gilmore was like "Is that it?" Lol!

Ravens have the best group of TE's hands down. It's not even close. Don't even talk to me about the rest of the team at every position. Ozzie is the best. Enjoy Ravens football for the next few years people. No more watching the NFL cheat Ray Lewis of victory.

And to think of how many Ravens fans said that the Ravens reached for Gilmore with a 3rd round comp pick (basically an early 4th round pick). I was right. Kelechi Osemele and Courtney Upshaw were great 2nd round picks. I said Timmy Jernigan was the steal of the draft last year. Forsett and Owen Daniels would make a big impact. Hindsight is 20/20.
