I'm so glad we signed Daryl after Ray Lewis retired. Veteran leadership isn't easy to replace.

Man, this Baltimore Ravens Organization is easily one of the best in all areas but one in particular is finding small unknown players that breakout and show great skills. Which means we have one of the best coaching staffs and we build men who learn how to work hard. Think about all the guys. Justin Forsett, Daryl Smith, Jacoby Jones, Chris Canty, Dennis Pitta was raw out of college and so was Webby and Jimmy Smith. There are many more as well.  We turned all of these guys to above average talent players. Can't wait for this season to start, GO RAVENS!!!

Its good to see we had vets in every catagory out there, Jimmy was out leading the DB's, Smith leading the mad backers, Flacco and SSSR out there. This gets me fired up!

That's what makes this TEAM so awesome, veterans getting in there and showing the young guys how to be professionals. It brings continuity as a unit and only makes each player that much better. Kudos to you guys for doing it right!!

While it's always good to have veterans come to voluntary camps like this, I was hoping he would sit this out so that Arthur Brown could get these valuable snaps so the team can finally begin to draw some conclusions on his future... If he isn't in our plans can we at least feature in him in preseason games to trade him for a late round draft pick..

Daryl Smith is one of the most unrated pick-up ever. He is under-valued, not by us, but the rest of the league. Happy he is a Baltimore Raven!!!

Daryl Smith is one of the most underrated players in the NFL, imho.  I hope he has a great season and gets the accolades he deserves for his dedication, work ethic and solid, outstanding play. He deserves a Pro Bowl selection and a Super Bowl ring!

Before the coaching staff gets their hands on a player, I've always thought the Ravens excelled at scouting and evaluating players to fill the Ravens' needs. Kudos go to Eric DeCosta, assistant GM; Vincent Newsome, Dir of Pro Personnel; & Joe Hortiz, Dir of College Scouting. Those are the guys that take Ozzie's taskings to find the specific kind of player that improves the LB corps, the O-line, or the DBs. The coaches may be rounding a player out but they were already presented with a round player to fill a round hole.

I really hope he gets another deep run into the playoffs with this team. Obviously that is a little self serving for any of us to say as fans but all those years of losing seasons in JAX must have made last year very memorable for him.

It just seems as though the older the player the more the Ravens get from them. Steve Smith, Suggs, Elvis, etc. The conditioning program for these guys is awesome. What a great organization we have and how fortunate we are to have them. Best owner. Best coaches. Best players. A win win situation. Go Ravens.

Many fans don't recognize his value as a dependable player.  Even our own fan base thinks of Dumervil, Suggs McPhee and Mosely first.  Daryl is  steady Joe that found his way to a relevent contender. We are consistent because we have players like him.

One thing for sure. The Maryland heat is familiar to a player that worked in Florida all those years.

I like D Smith, am very appreciative of his role as a leader and playing at a high level. Am so glad he is on the Ravens. Hope he gets a ring this year, he deserves it.

What a workhorse. He has one of the best excuses for anyone to take it easy, and that old hoss is out there in the humidity and the sunlight, teaching the young guys how to do it. Nothing but respect for Buck, love his low-key demeanor and workman like attitude.

It's been great seeing some of the vets come out for OTAs. That doesn't happen much and we are very fortunate to have players like D. Smith and the others thinking of the "Team" first.

Pretty amazing that he has yet to make even a pro bowl. Considering just how great he's been over the years this is a shining example of how much of a popularity contest the pro bowl is nowadays and why fans should get no vote whatsoever, but i digress. At least he's been a PFF all pro twice...

Hoping that Arthur Brown can get out of the dog house and is given a chance to produce.... He can add solid reps (keeping DSmith and Cj fresh as the season goes on) and he can really make an impact on ST
