Manziel - Oh Johnny

24 posts in this topic

This kid can't stay out of trouble or out of the news.  Supposedly got into an altercation at the Byron Nelson golf tournament.  He allegedly threw a water bottle at someone in the gallery.  He missed and the guy said, "Nice throw" (LOL) prompting Manziel to charge the guy but he was restrained.

Lol, just can't make this stuff up. Almost feel bad for the browns fans... Almost

The fact is that he was never really going to be a good NFL QB anyway.    You can almost tell.  He just didn't have the discipline, even in game situations.  It's kinda sad that the Browns just cannot see it.

He was being harassed by a fan.  Should he have reacted the way he did though?  No.

As you and I both know, professional athletes are harrassed, jeered probably every day they go out in public.

How the athlete handles it, depends on his maturity level.  Since we know Johnny Football isn't mature AT ALL,

no one should be surprised by his reaction.

Rehab is about a lot more than not drinking or drugging. Rehab would also try to get through about a different, more constructive means of dealing with stress or adversity. This is not a good omen for Johnny in the way he handled this 1 of a thousand incidents to come. Johnny is a public figure and if he doesn't learn to buffer his reactions asap, Johnny will be on his way to either relapse or will be shown the NFL exit door. Not a fan of Manziel but I was hoping for him to get it together and at least give him a chance to see what he can do clean and sober. So far, these outbursts are not looking boding well for Johnny's future.

I think in this instance, he didn't do anything wrong.

Reading further into the story, he was on a golf course with his friends/entourage....then some 18yr old 'kid' asked for his autograph and a picture.   He kindly asked that he wish to keep his off-day private.   Then the kid decided to harass him nonstop.

Normally I'd say they should fire that scout (or damn near all of them) but with our luck, they would end up snagging one of our top guys

Mary kay cabot will write a column blaming art modell and the ravens

I actually had a customer in my store one day that was very demonstrative about the fact that we had won 2 Super Bowls, and that had they not moved to Baltimore, it would have been Cleveland that would have those two trophies.

Hmmmm....  rather interesting mentality, don'tcha think???

Ummm...  you still ignore them?  As soon as you react, the public is going to be made aware.  He has to learn how to deal with this stuff...  Yeah, it was some 18 year old kid...  He should have just turned around and walked away...  IGNORE THEM...    Just like I used to tell my kids.  The kid got exactly what he wanted; a press-worthy reaction.  This guy is the Justin Bieber of Football.

Sounds like that fan has given up on his team actually winning one and now just wants to claim what others worked hard for lol

I guess since NFL Network keeps airing Cleveland '95, they feel it's still not over and they are entitled...

A lot of Clev fans don't never seem to get the grasp that it was Tags that actually caused the Browns to move to Balt when he screwed Balt out of an expansion franchize by awarding it to Jax. Balt had the best package and it showed. We got the Browns.

What could possibly be going through his head?

A lot, supposedly. No wonder though - seems like there's a lot of empty space in there.

I told him that they were lucky that we left them the name, colors, mascot and logos...  unlike the Colts who left with everything...

(I didn't have the heart to tell him we didn't want to be the Browns).

Yeah its pretty terrible that Payton broke Unitas's Colts records. Again Balt fans were able to vote for their own name just like they did when they chose the Colts which the Irsays had no right to take.

As far as Manziel is concerned(the topic lol) some sort of security should have ushered this "fan" out. There's no reason he should have been able to badger Manziel like that.
