[News] At 36, Age Is Just A Number For Steve Smith Sr.

12 posts in this topic

As history will show:

At 36 SSS faced-off with the premiere shout-down corner in the last 5 years (Revis) and won the match-up in a critical play-off game. Although the Ravens didn't get a victory that day, SSS definitively showed that "Age ain't nothing but a number...".

I can't imagine a Ravens team without Steve now since and before he arrived. He just fits. I've always thought that when I lived in Carolina (temporarily). He's Purple and Black. If he can give us a few more season - I'm truly appreciative and I believe he will. I've never seen a WR so fit at his age since Jerry Rice. Keep - keepin-on S3.

Let's get him that Super Bowl Ring that he was robbed-of.

GO Ravens!

I agree, I like the fire in SSS...Every team needs that. Its infectious.

Absolutely. Plus, I think that those young receivers are really going to positively benefit from his health and training standards along with his in-depth, professional knowledge. Priceless.

SSS is AWESOME. He quickly became one of my favorite players after he came to Baltimore last season. I just hope the firey passion he has rubbs off on some of the younger players. I loved last season when he told the Panthers he was making them look like school yard kids the way he was running all over the field against them. S.Smith SR plays like a Raven and is a positive role model for young people to look up to. Go out and get another 1000 yards this season SSS!!!

Absolutely. I'm thinking he'll take a 'Super Bowl Championship' season over a 1000 yard season, but if it takes that - I'll take that. That would mean that SSS and the entire WR core are playing like Ravens and Flacco is all-in. The league will have to take notice. This offense has the potential to produce top receiving numbers. I betting on our guys.

gotta be honest, i didn't think senior would be anything but a arrogant tool when i heard he was coming to baltimore.

i was wrong. dead wrong.

the man is the ultimate team player. his mentality fits the ravens profile and a shame that he didn't arrive earlier in his career. with that said, today's world is not like it was ten years ago. players are able to play longer if they maintain a healthy lifestyle with the correct mentality . players today have access to information to maintain their bodies. it's up to the individual with correct attitude to have longevity. the body breaks down but with proper care and fuel it can last as long as a freak injury does not accrue. smith has it, shown it and hopeful he gets a ring with the ravens.

Hard to believe SSS has been with us for only a year. Agree that I wish he had spent his whole career in Baltimore. SSS is just a perfect fit and he immediately took on the leadership role of a life long Raven vet. Going to miss SSS big time when he decides to hang up the cleats. Hope he leaves his deep imprint of fire and passion on this young group of WRs in the time he has left with the Ravens.

Please get SSS a ring. That will validate his canton trip, even though I think his stats, work ethic, highlights, and passion make him worthy, some still question if he will make it in over guys like Wayne, and Johnson.

Can't wait for Week 1! We are going to be explosive on offense and scary on defense if Jimmy comes back healthy.
