Last 2 years, the Ravens have scoured the DB market but they keep coming up with UdFAs/journeymen. I'm hoping our draft pick provides the stability we need. Show your stuff and do your thing Tray.

Vet with starting experience? I'll take it. I am telling you right now.. Once the season begins, we will have a top 3 defense in all phases..

LMAO Detroits secondary has been garbage for the longest and he was no bright spot in it. 6 years in, this guy pretty much is who he's gonna be.

Damn, well they arent adding him to the mix to square up against Brown or AJ he's just a warm body to throw in the mix

Ravens have plenty of CBs now for sure Smith, Webb, Arrington... then a whole other group CBs with Jackson, Melvin, Walker and Vaughn

"6 years in, this guy pretty much is who he's gonna be"

You think so?  I am really glad our Front Office didn't take that 'know everything' stance before they signed Justin Forsett last year.

not the same thing. Forsett was buried on depth charts by superstars and even then was still giving his teams good production whenever he got on the field. his problem was mostly lack of opportunity.

Detroit has no top corners, Cassius just isnt very good.

I think I will allow the experts to know whether or not someone is good enough to be a Raven. Apparently they see something in this guy that interested them besides being just a body. We'll have to see how he performs before negging him. Go Ravens.

He will be the 4th corner on the depth chart at best, which he may not even win that job either. Just another body for the CB group. Its not like he is a sure fire guy who will see a lot of playing time. No need to get bent out of shape

He only played for DET last season, in which their Pass Defense was ranked pretty high.

I feel like we went what...

Ross, Jackson, Webb the first half, Jimmy the second half, Cason, Chykie Brown, Danny Gorrer...that's six deep already last season and im sure i didnt cover everybody.

i take it that reading isnt your strong suit. He only played for DET last season, in which their Pass Defense was ranked pretty high.

everyday i pray for brevity to prevail on these boards and everyday i am disappointed.

They were 13th in passing D, which is closer to average than anything and mostly because of the their front. He only started 5 games.

and before that he played for Indy and Denver...who both also had less than impressive defenses. what else?

Having an expirienced pro, with NFL starting expirience, come in and compeate for a job is never a bad thing. He has been on teams that are coaced by former Ravens coaches so i am sure we have some good homework done. At worst he knows how to practice hard, study film and conduct hiself as a professional. Not bad.

Which part of "depth signing" is so hard to understand?

So you expect us to pick up someone who is a pro bowl player now? Injuries happen, and corners are in high demand. Sorry, but we aren't going to feild a team full of players like Jimmy Smith. If injuries happen really at any position, it will most likely decline in production. The dude is clearly picked up for depth, at least he has experience and can play somewhat. Hopefully we stay healthy, but I think this guy is at least serviceable if we need him.

It should be mentioned he only played for the lions last year.

he's not number 2 or number 3 and he may not be number 4 either.  He is depth and you can't have enough depth.  It's not like we are going to have 5 Jimmy Smith's on the roster.
