[News] Late For Work 5/28: Why Joe Flacco Will Break Into Elite QB Club Under Marc Trestman

69 posts in this topic

Even tho we did we'll without Ngata for a few games, I fear he will be missed. He was the most athletic 340 pounder in the NFL. Teams had to gameplan against him even when he was banged up. He always drew double teams and regularly beat them. And when teams disrespected his presence quarterbacks would literally get hurt. Examples are Eli manning, Big Ben, rg3 and the list goes on and on.

Timmy Jernigan is on the right track but he needs to stay healthy for starters and continue to elevate his game. Those are big shoes he needs to fill. I'm very optimistic about our young (B.williams Jernigan Davis) trio and the solid depth that we have. It's vital that both B.Williams and Jernigan continue to up their game and Carl Davis to earn Cantys spot by mid season for us to offset Ngata's loss

Is it September yet?!!

I'd like to see Joe win another Super Bowl Trophy this year and have a career year. If Joe's up to it this could become the Ravens elite offense. That sounds even better. Trestman better make this good. He has a Super Bowl winning QB this year. Not a Jay Cutler.

Too much Steeler fan-like.

Too much focus on the past, remembering the good old days, and what woulda, coulda, shoulda.

I can promise Joe moved on, his teammates have moved, his coaches have moved on, and the franchise has moved on. The sooner fans do, they better fans they will be. What gets somebody to be "elite" is inherently subjective... there is no right or wrong answer. I, for one, don't measure "eliteness" by Lombardi's, because that's assigning a team accomplishment to an individual player.

SO well said, jacket! DITTO! I'm in total agreement with you on this one. Fans, we Must develop this mindset if we are to be strong and effective supporters of our QB and our team as well.

The writers on this site kill me. "If Trestman can work wonders with Jay Cutler, then it stands to reason that he can do a whole lot more with Flacco." First, Trestman was fired because Cutler was terrible last year and he (Cuter) basically gave up on the team. Trestman didn't work any wonders there. Second, even if (and that's a HUGE if) he worked wonders, what "whole lot more" does he have to do with Flacco? Work miracles? I think not. Writers here need to read what they write; that sentence made NO sence at all.Sorry for my rant. lol

you gotta love it when somebody spells the word "sense" wrong when talking about something else not making sense. Maybe I missed the sarcasm and you were just giving your impression of the writers.

The length of the contract is irrelevant. Kubiak didn't sign a one year deal, and he left.

I don't think Trestman gets a HC gig that fast, regardless of his success, but if a HC opportunity opens up, expect him to pursue it if they are interested in him.

I think Kubiak stays if the Denver job didn't open up.

ofcourse he would have. I'm pretty sure he turned down several other teams, but he said the Denver offer "changed the game".

Lions are an ascending team and organization. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they won that division and/or made a deep run in the playoffs. They've definitely got the talent to do it.

They've HAD the talent...
