C'mon Ozzie get either K.O. and Yanda extension done this year now so we could sign the other one before it's too late. Get an extension done now.

I forgot about how heavily Trestman relied upon screen passes for his running game last year lol. I hope he doesn't do that here, but then he was forced to do that in Chicago because their O-line is/was bottom-5 in overall talent.

I hope Trestman is as good as advertised. The offense has more talent (IMHO) on the roster this year than last year. If he is the "QB Whisper" everyone says he is.....this is going to be an awesome year! GO RAVENS!

Can't wait to see this offense in action I know it's going to be special, there just to much talent on this team for us not to be hoisting the Lombardi trophy within the next 3 years, I keep trying to tell people but they just don't get it...WARNING DO NOT SLEEP ON THE RAVENS.

this offense is going to be sick next year...

With the blockers we have, even at wide receiver and tight end, Perriman will tear up the field on screen passes. Just give him the ball with some blockers out front and let the defense tremble!

I'm sure Trestman started drawing up some for him right after we drafted him!

Allen too.. I love his running style.

We have a three headed monster at running back. Speedster Forsett getting lost behind the line then breaking off a classic 15+ yard td run breaking a tackle from an incoming safety. Big mauler Lorenzo Talliaferro coming in on short yardage situations and rumbling down the field running the zone, once he gets going into the second level... I don't like a safeties chances trying to stop him with a full head of steam. Then Buck Allen bringing the best of both worlds and the added pass catching ability...

I also like LSU running back Terrence Magee... senior player who mirrors Forsett a lot. He was awarded the #18 at LSU his senior year because he displayed the most qualities of what it means to be a "Tiger" on and off the field. This years Bobby Rainey!

You can't rest when we are on offense... those guys will set up the passing game for us.

“Without a doubt the best offensive lineman in football in 2014 was the Baltimore Ravens guard Marshal Yanda,” wrote PFF’s Gordon McGuinness. “Yanda has been one of the players who has set the standard at the position throughout his career, with the former Iowa Hawkeye finishing three out of the past four seasons as one of our three highest-graded guards.”

so its not just me then?

cuz there was a slew of people the other day tryna tell me that it was just me, lol.

Attn Jacket, I mention 4-6 Super Bowls before Flacco retires, What's so hard to believe a few Super Bowls here and there over a course of maybe 12 years if he last that long and I'm sure there will be other QB waiting that are in Elementary School now whom may be a future Ravens QB

This is the most talent the Ravens have ever had on offense...at every position. They will be a nightmare to defend. The receivers are particularly talented, big and fast. When Flacco has time he is a beast and behind this O line he will have all day. I fully expect Trestman to have a lot of fun with these guys. They will do everything well. Expect a well balanced offense that capitalizes on a defense's weakness. This should be an offense that just doesn't get stopped very often.

I agree.  This should be a very exciting season for us.  We do look good.  But we do have one big flaw we are going to have to cover in some way.  Your comment "when Flacco has time" was amazingly predictive.  Joe's production was so poor when he was rushed versus when he was not rushed I'm afraid it will be a bright red signal to every defense we face.  They'd all be fools not to blitz us every time we faced third and long.  We will need to find an answer for that defensive tactic from our opponents.  And once the season starts I think we will get a pretty good idea early on of whether we succeeded or not.  Our first game will be against Kubiak's new team, the Broncos.

Because its unrealistic. The elite of the elite of the elite of the elite QBs win 4 SBs in a lifetime. The franchise with the most SBs, the Steelers, have 6... TOTAL. That's six over about 45 years, and you're expecting something similar over a 12 year span? Not realistic by any stretch to me.

I think people completely underestimate how incredibly hard it is to even get to a SB, let alone win it. We'd be incredibly lucky to play in even 3-4 SBs during the Flacco era, and that's assuming you'd win every single one, which is incredibly rare.

I'm not suggesting the franchise won't win 4-6 more SBs in its history... I'm suggesting this notion that of the Ravens even making 4 SBs in the next decade (which is the aggressive lifespan of Flacco in this league) is incredibly unrealistic. I'm not even convinced there's a franchise or QB in this league right now that is even capable of making 4 SBs in the next 10 years.

With a strong OL if successful, I see a lot of runs and dump passes to RB and TE, pull the safeties in and hit Perriman deep.

I hope defenses think like you and blitz away, although I'm not counting on it. That would mean more single coverage for our receivers and mismatches for our TEs. Last year, when our offense struggled with the blitz, our receivers were shut down by single coverage. Despite that, Flacco still had a very respectable 86.5 qb rating against the blitz. http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/splits/_/id/11252/joe-flacco(scrollto bottom)

This year, Joe will have some younger, bigger, faster, more athletic weapons to throw to, and if defenses want to leave them in single coverage, I think they're going to regret it.

If stopping our offense was as simple as blitzing all the time, I'm sure Belichik and/or Lebeau would have prevented us from scoring 30 in the playoffs. Belichik is the best in the league at exploiting an opponent's weakness, and his defense couldn't seem to find one in our offense. Lebeau is one of the all time great DCs, and he had no answer for us as well, and that was without both starting tackles and before we loaded up our receiving corps in the draft.

I know this is alittle off topic ,but in just his third year Brandan Williams is the 101 best player in the NFL,look out he has nowhere else to go but up,baring injury he has a chance to be one of the best!! You heard it from me and I've been saying it for some time now!!

...I mention 4-6 Super Bowls before Flacco retires, What's so hard to believe a few Super Bowls here and there over a course of maybe 12 years if he last that long...

I tend to lean towards the lower end of this.  Flacco is 30, with one Superbowl.  My projection is if he can achieve two more in the next six years, then he'll have a chance at four Superbowls in the next 12.  This is based on several factors:

(1) In 12 years he'll be 42 yrs. old.  IMO, he'll be more than done - as a starter - by then.  My feelling (just my feeling) is Joe will retire by the age of 38.  If so, that  gives eight more years for, at least, three Superbowls.  After age 38, it's hard for me to throw my chips on the Joe Flacco experience - given the number of snaps and hits (he has yet to miss a start in...6 seasons) he'll have taken after the 2023 season.  I expect his age and decline in resiliency will take it's toll by this time and he will no longer be performing on the level of a starting QB.

(2) At age 30, Joe has one Superbowl win; Ben Roethlisberger (33) has two (in three appearances); Tom Brady (37) has four Superbowls in six appearances.  Though it's not out-of-the-question, obviously the window of opportunity is short...and now!  Superbowl wins are tough!  Superbowl appearances are tougher!!!  By the measure of the QBs mentioned, which I believe is fair, Brady has six SB appearances (with four wins) in 13 full seasons; Roethlisberger has three appearances (two wins) in 10 seasons; Joe has one SB appearance with one win in seven.  That means to match Brady's accomplishment, Joe will need to WIN an average of approx. one each of every other season for the next six seasons (BTW, I don't see Brady winning another SB.  This season will tell a lot about that...stay tuned!!!). To accomplish four plus SB wins...again...the time is now!

(3) Continuity of the organization's brain trust - those responsible for the success on the field (and thereby SB wins).  The Ozzie/DeCosta train is on even a shorter track (IMO).  Ozzie is 59 years young.  Even by my projection of eight years out has him dancing on an age of 67 birthday cake in 2023.  I don't see him sticking around as GM that long...especially, if he achieves another ring.  Matter-of-fact, I see him walking away on top with the next one (...and why not?  Could you blame him?).  That leaves DeCosta/???  Not saying that ??? can't equate success, just ??? is ??? and we don't know what the unknown FO without Ozzie is, or will be capable of...just that we know what we've got!...And that equals success, and the best chance for Joe with the Ravens to win multiple SBs.

So, four rings - possible; six rings - they'll really need to step it up...as in SHOCK THE WORLD!!!

...And I'm ALWAYS for that!!!

Seattle and Wilson already have two in consecutive years. Can't rule them out.

The Steelers won 4 of those in the span of half a decade.

in the modern era that's a lot less likely to happen for any team cuz better athletes and cuz salary cap, but its far from unrealistic.

The Steelers won 4 of those in the span of half a decade.

in the modern era that's a lot less likely to happen for any team cuz better athletes and cuz salary cap, but its far from unrealistic.

The salary cap was created for the 1994 season. Since that time:

21 years, 13 different SB champs. Patriots won 4 of them, five other teams won 2. Of those five teams with 2, two of those teams had different QBs when they won the SB.

Even if we focus only on GETTING to the SB, and not even winning it, there's 42 SB participants represented by 21 different teams. There is only ONE team in 21 seasons who even has more than 4 SB appearances, and that's NE with 7. PIT has 4 appearances.

That's the problem. And even if we play the "well Seattle made back to back, so winning 6 isn't impossible", the same thing could easily have been said about the Patriots. They won 3 in 4 years, which was unprecedented and may never be duplicated again. They only had to wait another entire decade to win another one, and that's after two failed attempts in between.

Do I think Flacco can PLAY in 4 SBs? Perhaps, although I'd consider that to be an incredible achievement in it of itself. I certainly don't expect him to go 4-0 in those SBs, because those kinds of accomlishments are incredibly rare. If he wins ONE more SB during his Baltimore career, I'd be extremely happy with that and wouldn't consider that a "missed opportunity", because history tells us all we need to know about what it takes to win that many SBs in a salary cap era, particularly with one QB.

Not sure why Marty Mornhinweg is the QB coach. Seems to me we would have wanted someone with more success. Flacco may be better off with no QB coach at all...
