Well it's probably our last year having him so we need to win now. Doubt we can a long term deal with him.

He's more valuable if he can stay on the field, which has been his main issue.

He seems focused now, I'm expecting good things

With what became the state of our secondary, I don't see how we could've made the playoffs without Will Hill. Imagine our secondary without Hill, Smith, Jackson and Brooks. I shutter to think of it.

Same. Not sure if we should re-sign him even if he plays great. Do you want a potential season long suspension looming, even if he's very good? He's similar to Gordon in this regard, although he's shown to clean up his act so far.

Really want to see Hill get a long term deal, the scary thing is we haven't even seen him at the top of his game yet. We got flashes of what he can do but because he had to jump into the starting lineup for the first time as a Raven after the suspension he didn't necessarily have a whole lot of chemistry/familiarity in actual game situations with our defense.

I'm sure Hill is going to bet on himself and not take a deal from us before this season, will probably get a monster pay day after this year. Devin McCourty type money. I just hope it's with us but knowing Ozzie he will probably take that 3rd round comp pick knowing we gave up next to nothing for him in the first place. It's a win-win either way if he has a big year but I would really like to see him remain a Raven.

I wonder if the Ravens will try to sihn him to an incentive laced contract, kinda like what Greg Hardy got. The issue with Hill wilk be in bonus money because teams get money back for suspended game checks.

Yeah that would be the case in both instances. Inventive laden deal would protect us, and could give him appropriate compensation, but he may want a higher guaranteed for it. Hardy also was in a dilemma coming as a free agent with serious DV charges (even if they were disputed and dropped) that certainty hurt his value in the wake of Ray Rice.

Hill has a similar situation, although I suspect his transgressions aren't viewed as heavily as what Hardy did. The real dilemma is he faces a year long suspension with another incident.

Will Hill has played extremely well for us... I, too, am expecting big things from him this year.

I'm not wildly enthusiastic about the figures quoted by PFF.  They've shown more times than not that they are illegitimate statistic gatherers.  But Will Hill the best Safety in the NFL?...Hold on a minute, before we go much further...give me  dime so I can call my mother!

Mom is an NFL encyclopedia and she is still laughing hysterically about PFF's characterization of Will Hill over there in the kitchen. Mom says that Will Hill is much better than Matt Elam and that bum we signed from Oakland two years ago and that he has shored up a sieve of a secondary. (She just held up a real sieve for emphasis).  But she's still laughing.

Between chuckles she's calling out the names of better safeties, but they are hard to understand.

She definitely said Eric Weddle, Eric Reid, Earl Thomas, Jimmy Ward, the guy in Minnesota. She's said about 10 names but I can't make them all out she's laughing so hard., but invariably she is right.

Love you Mom!  Can I have pancakes for breakfast?

Will Hill is the truth.

Different positions, Reid plays Free safety and Ward plays nickel CB.

Eric Weddle, Earl Thomas, Eric Reid, and Harrison Smith (Minnesota) all play FS. Jimmy Ward certainly isn't better than Hill and plays slot CB. Also Hill was rated the best SS. Not exact surprising, as he was rated the #2 safety with the Giants.

PFF made no distinction regarding Free or Strong Safeties, nor left or right corners. Pretty typical for them.

If you think Will Hill is the best all around safety in the game, that is certainly your prerogative.

Quit laughing mom!

I think he is. I was saying it even before we signed him.  Maybe if he played for seattle he would be a bigger enough name for you. I personally think earl thomas is overrated. He's not sean taylor...

Will Hill is a top 3 SS who played FS very well last year.

I said as soon as NYG cut him, we should sign him. Another great move by Ozzie.

He is also one strike away from being the next Josh Gordon

We did not even see what he could REALLY do considering he wasn't in the shape he was in while with the Giants.

This year I expect much more production out of him, he is without question a MONSTER and a top tier safety in my mind

I like Will Hill and I think he has found a home in Baltimore. He has been a model citicen since he came to be a Raven.

Personally believe if we go into the season healthy with; Webb, Smith, Arrington, Hill and Lewis they can be a top 5 secondary by mid season.

At the risk of sounding like a "HOMMER" I second that.
