Not really into arguing this, since I've always thought Yanda should be resigned, I just think that the factors I've mentioned will be/ are being taken into account by the front office.

Yep he sure is, but I don't happen to agree with EVERYTHING that PFF says. Do you? What evidence do you have that suggests he could play LT, or C at a high level? We wasted an entire season with Gradkowski at center and not once did they consider moving Yanda over to replace him. We've had a few issues at LT since Yanda has been here as well, but I don't recall him ever taking any snaps there either. 

 

Here's the scoop on Yanda. Currently the best guard in the league, AND best backup RT in the league. Yanda playing anywhere else would indicate to me that we have officially gone into desperation mode.

They started gino for 16 games cause who knows.... And Yes I do. I don't have any evidence and I didn't say at a high level. I said with the right coaching,preparation he could play those positions if required. Blah blah blah don't care

doesnt matter what you said, doesnt make sense either way. Nobody is writing an 8 year contract, and no contract that gets written now has any bearing on, nor does it guarantee the existence of, a second contract...so why are we talking about 2 contracts?

Yanda is the superior player, and as i said before...nobody is writing a contract longer than 5 years. Yanda isnt old enough to be concerned that a 5 year contract will outlast his playing ability, so age is still irrelevant.

Not random... Elite, and never because they don't have to and no one in their right mind would expect them to. Who would take their elite LT and play them at Center??? The only thing elite Left Tackles ever have to worry about is playing LT. Unlike RG, the LT position is far to important to go around playing musical chairs with unless something has gone terribly wrong. Interior lineman need to be somewhat versatile, especially if they're going to be considered elite. Elite Left Tackles... Not so much. Elite Left Tackles only need to be consistent, and nobody is interested in moving them around. All that shuffling around is mostly reserved for lesser players at lesser positions.... Like Marshal.

 

 

Take away Center (just to be nice) Yanda's still killin at 4 out of 5 OL positions...who is your challenger?

Your gonna have to be a little bit nicer because you can scratch LT off the list as well. 3 out of 5 ain't so bad.

It wouldn't lengthen his career at all, but there are some people here that believe Yanda is a one-man offensive line, and the best lineman on the planet. He's a great player and all, but I think that's a bit of a stretch.

Except we're not talking about a draft pick here. We're specifically talking about Marshal Yenda, and the last time I checked he is a well known commodity. I never said that we should move him. All linemen and all different positions. The best lineman in the league will almost ALWAYS be one of the elite LTs. Not a RG. As is the case now.

The bottom line here is that Yanda is the best lineman in the league.

If you contend that he is not, then that necessarily implies that there is someone better than him.

If you cannot name that person, than you're really not saying anything, and its not worth it for me to dignify any of your arguments with response until you stop dodging my question.

Because you can make all the arguments you like, pose all the hypotheticals, point out all the flaws, call out all the the things he supposedly cant do...but until you can give me a name, the only thing you're really doing is listing the shortcomings...of the best lineman in the league. The only thing you're really saying is that he isnt perfect. True as that may be...it does not negate that he's the best.
