[News] Re-Living Ravens' Visits With David Letterman

Great interviews. Funny. John is so personable, a natural for tv but he better not be giving up his day job as coach any time soon. Joe's comment about not knowing what Ray is talking about half the time always cracks me up

Saw the Letterman show last night, Bill Murray and Letterman together is funny. I remember seeing Harbaugh and Flacco on Letterman and shouting with no one around me "Hey!, I know those guys!" Good old days, eh? Letterman will be missed, maybe we will see the Ravens on the show with the replacement Steve Colbert next year, fingers crossed.

Also the late great Baltimore Colt Hall-of-Famer Artie Donovan was a frequent guest on Letterman. Artie was always hilarious. And when Letterman did that Super Bowl commercial with Oprah and Jay Leno, he was wearing an Art Donovan Baltimore Colts jersey.

Art was one of my favorite people to listen to. Never boring for sure. I will never forget when Art Donovan was talking about a college team (I think it was the Hurricanes arriving by plane to play a Bowl game) with all the players coming off the plane wearing army fatigues. Art blurted out "I bet every one of those guys would crap their pants if they hear a gunshot go off". I was laughing so hard that I could not go to sleep that night because I couldn't get it out of my mind. Every now and then I would just grin when I think about that interview. Pure blue collar. A good man.

Harbs was on Letterman? Billick probably did it first, huh?

I search using Google search engine with search dates about 4 months starting from Super Bowl and could not find Billick on Letterman, let alone any TV shows, probably because Billick was dealing with the fallout of pushing Dilfer out the door after Ray Lewis won MVP and Dilfer going to Disney Land. I found it very interesting that was not the first time it happened. Jerry Rice was 1989 Super Bowl MVP and Montana went to Disney World. Terrell Davis was 1998 Super Bowl MVP and Elway went to Disney World so what happened then was not the first time. That likely was why Billick was not on any TV shows like Harbaugh because he had a lot on his plate and did not want the media meddling and asking him uncomfortable questions about Dilfer and the fallout of the Disney debacle.

Art Donovan was one of my favorites too. I was an old Colts fan before we were morphed
