Asa was 25, and he changed his number to 27, so Walker took 25. I don't know if there has been another number swap since.

Other than keeping J Smith and Webb healthy, the most pressing need was replacing Corey Graham at nickle. Arrington does that. This year's secondary could be as pleasant a surprise as last year's OL.

I hear you talkin but I'll wait for the walkin, for the proof is in the puddin. To avoid injuries you have to stay in monster shape, just ask Jerry Rice. And in order to stay in monster shape you have to go the extra mile, for being good is one thing but being great is totally something different for it puts you in an elite class with just a few other people. In football during the off season exercise, during preseason exercise, during regular season exercise, and it's not just about exercise, you have to eat right and get the necessary sleep for your body to perform in this state of total fitness, this is what it takes, for football is a game of injuries, and to make it through your career with the least amount of injuries you truly have to be in more than tip top shape, you have to be in monster shape. And that takes dedication, conviction, and denying yourself of not all but a lot of what we call life pleasures like staying away from illicit drugs and alcohol and the party, you know treating your body like it's God's temple. Also mental fitness is a part of this and being in the right frame of mind, But that is just for those who want to have a great career in the NFL and not just a good career in the NFL filled with injuries!!!

The lose of Corey was the most critical. I would say it cost the Ravens another SB appearance.

I pray they don't try to force elam into a role bc he was a 1st rd pick if he doesn't show, improving on his coverage awareness and especially tackling leave him on the bench .

well fans....this is exactly what we asked of OZ and the team and they returned the request! A very solid 10 DB plus a couple of URRA to participate in the camps...with room we may keep a back-up DB on the practice squad. I still see OZ acquiring a veteran WR late in the camp season as well as building a solid practice squad with some interesting moves. Cant wait to see these guys in action.

I'll say the back end looks solid so we shouldn't have the mental break downs and big plays that haunted us in those close games. No real playmakers with ball skills back there as I think only Webby has more than 10 in his career. I think with our pass rush and receivers not running wide open like last year we should be top 5 in defense again.

Melvin is a dark horse to get some real playing time. physical kid with a great approach to the game. All he needs to do is work on his technique and study lots of film so he doesn't get tricked out there by the veterans.

It looks like Melvin and Elam are the crew that has to proove more than the four established vets, Melvin was outstanding at times. I am not sold  on Elam and won't be until he prooves consistant reaction and tackling skills. His tackling made all of us get sick.

I really like Melvin, I think he played well with all things considered last year. He remineds me of Webby as a rookie. Not afraid to tackle, really good at the point of contact with his hands. I cant wait to see his growth. I also think that if Terrance brooks can come back and retain his speed he will be a factor, maybe at the end of the year. This will be a solid 53 , I can tell you that.

My God, your post had 17 likes before I read it.

I think he single handedly gave up 2 TD's and 200 yards in the Divisional Round to Brady. I changed his name from Melvin, to Melba........like the toast.

He was playing 10 yards off most times and still got burned deep on the Edleman option pass.

If he's on the field in any manner next year, our chances are manifestly discounted.
