Remember when the Ravens-Titans rivalry mattered?

Think the 2008 AFC division game the final chapter in that rivalry. They still had Kearse and we had Lewis and Rolle from the old days.

That game was mans football though, no young pups survived.

Old time football, that type is gone now.  Last man standing type game, who buckled first, certainly wasn't going to be a Ray Lewis led defense.

I started  to make a thread about this last season.I check out other teams forums every once in a while and everytime I go to theirs around the time that we play them theres usually a couple fans thinking they're our rival and hating on Flacco,Harbaugh,Suggs and Ray Lewis.One guy on this one titans forum even has an anti-ravens avatar lol.At first I didn't think of them as a rival  because I was too young to remember those days,but ever since I found out how much they hate us I smile a little more when we kick their butts or when I think about those two divisional games.

Have to say I've grown to hate the pats more then steelers.

 

It's a different type of hate. Steelers is traditional old school hated rival.

 

Pats is like something else. I'd hate the Pats even if I wasn't a Ravens fan. Just slimy to the core

Yup... Seems like we can hopefully get one or two of those a year now and usually it's the steelers obviously

 The last time it still felt like a rivalry was the 2008 divisional round game when Joe hit Heap over the middle on 3rd down to set up Stover's GW. The Titans haven't been back to the playoffs since and the rivalry just lost all it's steam. 

 

The Patriots rivalry has taken it's place and then some since we always seem to find each other every year in the playoffs and it's always a tight game outside of the 2009 blowout.

During the Titan's game last season I was at the bar with some loser yelling over at our table. He was wearing a Lions jersey so I didn't get what his issue was.

 

Low and behold, the moment we pulled away in that game he took off the jersey only to reveal he was wearing a Titans jersey underneath lol.

 

There were 4 raven fans there including myself and we naturally all got around the same area of the bar and one of the guys mentioned he always does that

 

We laughed at him pretty much from the end of the 3rd to the 4th.

 

As far as I'm concerned it's alive because of that guy lol
