I don't see much more for us this off-season unless it's dt/de depth. IDK if Candy can play a full season. Never know some good ppl may be cut, but Cb is looking a whole lot better now. We almost did it without Jimmy so a healthy Jimmy, Arrlington, healthy Jackson and more matured Melvin this team is dangerous. I don't think our sack production will go down either with McPhee shipped off. Jernigan if starting the whole yr to me could have put up Aaron Donald type numbers so I can see him making up for production and the more I see "Bud" Dupree highlights I see more Smith and whatI see is a better all around player. Kinda like Suggs and Doom, I'll take my boy Sizzle any day.

He is 28.  I can see he has reslience but for a CB or anyone who needs those hips 28-31 is old man range.  This tells me we a gearing up for the SB THIS year. Arrington has been employeed by a team who has Conference title experience. With Kendrick Lewis and his vast experience, Oz recognizes the need to bolster the secondary and build the O team as a solidified weapon. I Like the move.

OLB:Suggs, Doom (Upshaw, Smith)

DL: Williams, Jernigan, Canty (Davis, Guy, Urban, Lewis-Moore, Bilukidi)

Offense:

QB: Flacco (Schaub)

RB: Forsett (Taliaferro, Allen)

WR: SSS, Perriman, Marlon (Aiken, Camp, Waller)

TE: Williams, Gilmore, Boyle

OL: Monroe, KO, Zuttah, Yanda, Wagner (Urschel, Hurst, Myers)

K: Tucker

P: Cox

Can't wait!!! Ravens are going all the way!!

I think you meant Cox as our longsnapper and having Koch as our punter. That puts you right at 53. Good roster, one surprise this year people need to watch is if Arthur Brown does not develop and play out they way they expected when they drafted him to watch Orr. Remember the last offseason the Ravens front office didn't talk about him highly because they didn't want another team to snatch him off of their practice squad. He could really be a great undrafted player and in his second year he may turn even more heads.

I'd expect Brooks to start the year on PUP, and possibly never come off, so I think you have at least one open roster spot there.

Just a hunch, but I don't think we keep 8 DL on the 53 man roster either. If we do, I'd expect at least 2 of them (possibly 3) to be inactive on gamedays most of the time anyway.

I hope we only use Arrington in subpackage formations. Aka the slot. Aka the Nickel CB. He is essentially a shut down slot CB, and using him in any other position on defense would hurt us more than help us. As far as special teams go, Arrington is phenomenal at it. When I compare him to Corey Graham there is a reason behind it, because Arrington is a PERFECT replacement for Graham. I can emphasize enough how critical this signing was.

Agreed, and I expect that's precisely what he will do.

BUT... he's also at the least veteran depth. So an injury to Webb or Jimmy might force him outside. While he's not nearly as good there, its hard to tell now whether he would do a better job than somebody like Asa or Melvin on the outside either. My suspicion is he would perform better, but obviously corner would still be a weakness.

I was very surprised that they let Graham walked... he wasn't even breaking the bank... if they end up paying him what they would have paid Graham.. I would be highly disappointed cause a potential championship was left on the table last season... smh

Too much hindsight. We don't know what would have happened if we signed Graham.

Do we know for certain we sign Steve Smith Sr. if we signed Graham? Could we still afford to pay Eugene Monroe or Dennis Pitta (obviously the Pitta thing didn't work out too well)? There's no way to possibly know.

If we were to pretend that signing Graham would have cost us either Monroe or Pitta, I'd have 100% preferred to sign Monroe or Pitta over Graham at the time we made the decision.

Its the most irrelevant perk that fans have... we have the ability to second-guess decisions the FO or team makes after knowning precisely what the following events are. Ozzie simply doesn't have that luxury.

If Pitta returns... I see Brown or Canty as a quicker candidate to get cut... Orr and McClellan have special teams value... I don't see Brooks being active this year at all.. he tore his ACL so late in the season.. and with 6 other healthy Safeties on the roster I find it hard to see him being rushed back.. JMO

I think the back field of Kendrick Lewis, Will Hill, Jimmy Smith, Webb and Kyle Arrington in concert with our front 6/7 will be hard to score against! What a fabulous off season for Ozzie, DeCosta, Horitz, Harbaugh and gang! Wow! And I am not even taking into account our explosive offensive weapons...

I think Canty is pretty safe. He's got a base salary under $1M, a very small cap number, and he's basically the only "veteran" on an extremely young DL.

You risk playing the season with a complete group of mostly unproven players on the DL if you cut Canty.

Solid solid pick up man. I can not believe the brilliance before my eyes. The off-season moves are really putting us in a good position to win out this up coming season and I can't wait to see it. If we can stay healthy or get healthy at the right time, look out NFL teams because playoff Ravens are taking out anyone who stands in our way. RAVENS NATION STAND UP!

Couldn't have said it better myself, jacket.

some one that knows brady's habits in case ravens and patriots meet in the playoffs.

WE know Brady's habits, we dont need Kyle Arrington for that. How you think we blow them out so often?

So, barring injury (knock on wood) it doesn't seem like we have any major holes on this team anymore, apart from maybe the strong safety position. We at least have someone serviceable or better at every single position. If Matt Elam plays the way he ought to we'll be every bit as good as the 2012 team. Just saying.

I hope he has couple of 2011 season still in him! Can we put him in bubble wrap until the season starts?

Steve should hire 3 rose petal throwers to precede Ozzie wherever he goes, so his feet never have to touch the ground. All hail Ozzie!

Ravens barley win against the Pats and history shows it. http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/game_query.cgi?tm1=nwe&tm2=rav&yr=all

He spoke of the playoffs.

Only one of two things happens when we see the Pats in the Playoffs (at least over the last 8 years):

We blow them out, or they win by less than 5 points.

And in either case, its always personally, Brady's worst day of the season. History shows that.

I'm excited about our receiving core. Best combo for me would be Perriman as the number one Steve Sr in the slot and Marlon Brown out wide.

It may be just me but I have a hard time trusting any player coming from New England . For some reason in the back of my mind I just have this notion that bellechik sent him here to steal our signals and be kind of like a double agent and then get cut on purpose like legarette Blount and report back to New England before the postseason. Lol I'm kidding ofcourse , but I wouldn't put anything pass them jokers.

Davinater213.... I agree with you I also think that this team is very very talented! but I do think there are a couple of areas that could potentially be a weakness:

1> WR.... if Perriman is not what he is supposed to be or if SSS ages over night... that could really hurt us.

2. DL (interior)... I believe that we will not feel the loss of NGATA bc Timmy looks like the real deal and I love our draft pick in Davis... but Timmy was injured in limited time last season and will need to stay healthy... while I think Davis will prove to be a steal... that has to be seen. KLM and URBAN need to stay healthy, as does Canty (all of which were not able to last season).

3. DB's... and while I think we will be much better then last year... both Jimmy and Webby have been injury prone throughout their respective careers, Asa looked not so good in spots and Arrington should be an upgrade but didn't play much last year. Will Hill has to continue to regain form and Kendrik Lewis will need to adjust... while Elam needs to improve and Brooks needs to heal...so still a lot of question marks in our DBackfield.

4. TE... Is Pitta healthy? Can Maxx Williams be what we expect? What about Boyle or even Gilmore?

I have every reason to believe that we have enough depth that at most positions it will work out but an injury here or there could still be very damaging... especially in our WR corps and on our DL (interior)....

I love the potential but I realize that there are still potential holes and I wouldn't be surprised if Ozzie is still working on some of these positions!
