A big plus of signing Schaub is getting these young WR's/TE's quality reps in OTA's/TC/Preseason.. coaches can get a good look at them and not have to worry about poor QB play factoring into their performance. Preseason should be fun to watch, we'll get a glimpse of the Flacco-Perriman/Maxx connection and then in the 2nd half we'll have Schaub throwing to Waller, Carter, Worthy, Boyle, ect. should be able to get a good evaluation on the young guys because we have such a high quality back up.

Great point.

I like Waller.  He interviews as an intelligent committed player. I saw a vid with Perriman and Waller walking off the field with their coach. They are twin towers. A Perriman and Waller combination is my vision

My pick to surprise as the udfa WR to make the team.

Even with a glut of talent at WR, I have a feeling about this guy as well.

Yea he dealt with some tough secondaries last season with the ACC and SEC and had some of his better games. I like the actual game flim video because it helps judge the impact of a play. Worthy mad a lot of big plays on the biggest moments for his team, even when defenses knew he was getting the ball. I'm very impressed and intrigued by Worthy. Not sure of he's still dealing with the injury or not but if he's healthy and can be solid on ST i think he makes it.

I think this is the potentially best WR corps on paper we've ever had.

I would agree with that. Crazy how pre-draft it looked like an area of weakness with Torrey departing and all. Can't say enough about the way we draft and scour the UDFA market for hidden gems. Turned a weakness into a strength seemingly over night. Perriman has big time potential, Waller looks like a player, and Carter or Worthy are going to make a serious push to make the team. We were all clamoring for the WR position to get upgraded after Torrey left and I think Ozzie & company have far exceeded our expectations.

Yeah I really like the potential of Waller, Perriman, Carter and Worthy. I think they all have potential better than where they were drafted or not drafted. They may amount to nothing but they all have the high upside to be something. That had me excited.

Crazy part is we're working with a 36 year old, 2 UDFAs, 2 rookies, and a competition involving a 7th rounder and a couple UDFA rookies. Ozzie may not have a shining record with drafting receivers but somehow he's given us a great corps with a bunch of nobodies + a 36 yo Steve Smith. If anyone still doesn't trust Ozzie then they need their head examined quickly...

I don't know if there's room for him unfortunately. Reminds me of Aiken, much like Aiken i think he'll have to spend year 1 on the PS and give it another go next year.

Waller

Worthy

Campanaro

Carter

Perriman

Smith,sr.

Aiken

Brown

Assuming we keep Aiken and brown this year, I don't see both on the team next year and I'm guessing Smith,sr. Is gone after this year. I think we may keep 7 on the 53 and find a way to hold onto the rights to eight through this year.

I like the overall diversity of receivers. Worthy appears huge even among our receivers. I will resist saying that he puts in the mind of Boldin......

I dont know if the lack of planning was the NFL or the Ravens fault  but I am kinda dissapointed that our top picks were not at the 1st OTA because of the NFL rookie meetings they had to attend.

I think the NFL picks the dates and the teams have to accept. I don't think it was just the Ravens rookies who were affected by the timing of this event either...

Probably a combo of both, but more on the NFL since they've had plenty of time to do this event before OTAs started.  I believe they did the same last year, but none of our players were invited.

Very few players are able to actually decline the invite, though.  It's part of their contract with the NFLPA.

I just hope next season the can plan it out better. All of us would have loved seeing our top picks out there going through some drills.

I know it was all the teams I just hope they think it out better before it happens again next season.

It might have been the NFLPA, I believe it was their event. Harbaugh didn't seem super pleased about the scheduling. But, it's the NFLPLA, so they're all about getting their guys a day off.

Could be wrong about that, though.

I did not even think about the possibility of it being the NFLPA. I just hope it does not happen in the future.

There is not enough history on guys like Aiken and Camp to sugguest they will just be better the next season. I as much as anyone else am excite about the potential talent of guys like Brown, Aiken and Camp, but lets be real here. None of those guys did anything particularly special that makes you say "ok we know exactly what to expect from that guy going forward". As much as i think Marlon Brown will have a large impact this year, he can suffer the same fate as Tandon Doss who just couldn't put it together and got cut.

Speaking of Doss he basically had the same type of production in 2013 as Aiken last year and far more success as a WR and returner then Camp and he was cut. So for people thinking that a guy like Aiken is safe, he's not. Now i'm not saying Worthy will push Aiken off the roster, what I'm saying is there is room for 3-6 and maybe even 7 because nobody has those spots locked

From all accounts its a very good event . Amazing the amount if resources the league puts out there for these guys and sad how few take full advantage. Ross tucker had a lot about the event on his podcast last year. If he does again this year its worth a listen.

i kind get what you're saying, but dont forget aiken has chemistry with Flacco, that's important.

I remember there were talks about increasing the roster from 53 to 55. I really hope that goes through.

I think it's a good thing that they try to help out these young players but they did not help them out when they pull them away from OTA practices with how hard it is to try to adjust to the NFL level. Thats my only concern I wish all rookies drafted and undrafted alike could go to the event. It just needs to be planned better I.M.H.O.  even if they do it right before the combine get all the rookies together a few days earlier to participate in these meetings.

I haven't looked at the actual statistics- which I probably should do before chiming in but comparing Aiken and doss is kind of like apples to oranges- they may have had similar production , but doss was supposed to be a starter while Aiken was like 4th or 5th on the depth chart. Like I said I haven't looked at how many times each of them were thrown to- but just going off the eye test it seemed as if Aiken had very minimal oppurtunities yet capatilized on almost all of them- while doss was a constant let down. I'm not sayin in any way that worthy doesn't have a shot or anything like that- I would just be very suprised if a guy like Aiken is cut, even though like you said, anything is possible.

Ozzie traded down..

He coulda had gronk who i considered a better version of heap. I wanted gronk and pitta ( hernandez wad the 3rd option and thank god that didn't happen

Ozzie was going to take Gronk but NE traded up.  32 teams passed so its not a knock on Ozzie.  Since most of your predictions are wrong its fair to assume Bresad will do well.

Yes it is important but at this same time last year, Sr. Daniels, Aiken nor Camp had chemistry with Joe. Two years ago this time Marlon Brown didn't have chemistry with Joe. So how big of a factor is it really? Steve Smith said it was really easy to get on the same page as Joe and I've heard several other WRs say the same. I don't wanna make it seem as if I'm beating up Aiken cause I'm not, if he prove good enough to make this team again great, but i don't think he's in a position where you'll give him a spot over someone that out performs him just because of what he did last year.
