That's just what Ozzie does. He's not the best in the business for no reason. This is one fan who is happy to have him running the show. Just keep on doing what you're best at, Ozzie.

If you look at most of the departures we really didn;t have a choice. The guys either retired, were too old and worn out to be effective, sucked, were hurt too often, cost more than their value, or judgement calls had to be made in tight cap situations. The impressive part is that we almost scratched and clawed our way into the playoffs the following year, and were essentially a 4 point game (with a weary secondary and cheating opponent) away from another Super Bowl last season. I mean look at the wasteland that has been the Giants the last few seasons.

(FYI, to answer the question posed above, the five Super Bowl starters still in their jobs are Flacco, Osemele, Yanda, Suggs and Upshaw.

Didn't Jimmy Smith start in the Super Bowl?

The individuals most responsible for our success in many respects do stay constant, yet never play a down in a game. Individuals like Biscotti, Newsome, Harbaugh, DeCosta, and our scouts and player personnel staff - not to mention the coaches - are a large part of our continued success. Keep them around, and we will continue to win. Football is hard on players, and a constant stream of young talent is vital to winning. We seem to be able to keep that pipeline flowing, and it's the biggest reason why we keep winning. Keep up the good work!

There has also been a huge turnover in the coaches. Were on our 3rd OC (and the coaches they took with them) in as many yrs.

And to the question: didn't Jimmy Smith start as corner in the Super Bowl the answer is no. Cary Williams and Corey Graham started but Jimmy saw a lot of playing time.

You know the ironic part on the pitta situation is that while ed dickson recovered from his thigh injury and is productive as carolina's number 2 te pitta hasn't played since he left because the year after dickson left pitta has had both his hip injuries and now being almost 30 it kinda makes you wonder if ozzie was a lil to rash in his decision to let the younger guy go for the older one

As painful as it has been to watch that roster overhaul take place (it just always hurts to see beloved players go), it would have been 10 times more painful had they not won a Super Bowl before having to dismantle.

I understand the revolving door realities of the NFL. In my childhood, it was great to follow "our guys" year after year. Always a bit sad to say good bye to some of my favorite players so damn often. I am all for the salary cap so I know all I can do is shake my head as another 1 follows the money........so thanks again Webb for taking less $ to stay with your Ravens family...that's a rare but appreciated gesture of loyalty.

Do you want bryant mckinnie on your roster in 2015? If they didn't win the super bowl Ray Lewis and Matt Birk were still going to retire, Ed reed was not coming back. At least they won the big one!!!!!! What's Ramon Harewood up to? Michael Oher? How much of the 49ers roster that year is still there?

What does it really matter other than proving the Ravens build their roster so seamlessly that we need articles like these to remind us?

Kudos to the Ravens front office that we don't ever feel like there is mass change of nearly 80% of the roster and we don't even feel it!
