At Cornerback I Think We May Need To Take A Glimpse At Kevin Peterson Out Of Oklahoma State We Keep Talking About Transitioning To More Man Coverage He Holds Up On His Own An Always Wraps Up The Ball Carrier

I've heard of him. He's not bad. But what did proper grammar ever do to you?

We'll hopefully look for an outside CB in free agency over the draft.

Army has a WR named Edgar Allen Poe.  He might only be a junior, but come on, this is about as obvious as it gets.  We need this guy, even more than Floyd Raven.

We could just land both...

Isn't Shawn Oakman super hit or miss and boom or bust?

Yes, but he still had 11 sacks and gained All American honors

Drafting Karl Joseph would make me a happy man

He Has A Solid Reputation To Wrap People Up An He Plays Free Safety Gives Us More Range To Work With

But how well will it transfer to the NFL?

I was simply trying to say that Oakmen is a very talented player and the Big 12 coaches considered Ogbah to be a better player.

No, I understand what you're saying on Oakman, but do you think he'll translate to the NFL? I watch Pac 12, SEC, and ACC, usually.

all of this 100% lol. so much animosity right now, and especially with perriman being hurt, and its getting to the point that mentioning his name will lead to keyboard rage from at least one person. the condescending tone in which this thread is being bashed is ridiculous and way out of context.

i actually started the "never too early 2016 prospects" thread, from the day our season ends until the last night of the draft, i am all over the draft forums, not our problem that this guy doesnt pay a lick of attention to the draft and doesnt realize that we DO have impressions of players long before they are even drafted. hell i had an impression of CJ mosley becoming a dominant pro in his sophomore year because im a bama fan and watched him, i remember actually saying 3 years ago "man, i hope we can get him whenever he enters the draft, that would never happen though because hes gonna go too high". i knew 2 years ago that amari cooper was gonna go in the top 5 whenever he declared, and i believe derrick henry from alabama is the next in line to be a stud in the pros when he is drafted. those are definitely impressions i have formed of players, i dont need to see them in the NFL and play a whole season to know how i feel about them as prospects

Lock beat me so moving over here lol

Yeah as frustrating as this whole injury is, there is nothing we can do but wait.

There were definitely quite a lot of impressions on Perriman pre draft last year. Henry looks like a stud in the making, my biggest question with him not having seen him much is his vision as a guy like him running behind a line like Bama's can slack off a bit in that department(they made Trent Richardson a top 5 player in the 2012 draft) but then again, I haven't seen him enough to see whether he is good there or needs work.

trent Richardson was one of the most overhyped prospects I've ever seen and I said it at the time, Derrick Henry is the real deal, by the time he gets a NFL body he will make Eddie lacy look like Bernard pierce

Bernard Pierce actually had a good preseason, for what's worth.

Will Likely CAN NOT BE STOPPED. We need to snag him on day 3. He will be a special teams star both covering and returning

Time to get a OLB even more so than before

Yep, it looks like the window for grooming a Suggs replacement is growing smaller. Fortunately it looks like there are a few good options out there.

Yep a good class of OLBs coming out. Leonard Floyd has a lot of potential as a pash rusher. Scooby Wright III is a run stuffer

Agreed. I felt like OLB was a high priority before and feel vindicated now. We're in a predicament, though, after how the OL and WR played. They aren't making it easy.

Personally I would rather us go WR in FA given our unknowns in terms of production at WR..would love Boldin back even or someone like Rueben Randle who likely will hit the market, or if Alshon Jeffery did (likely not and pricey). However, I like some of this drafts WRs a lot, those being Tyler Boyd and Michael Thomas...

Not sure I am as fond of any of the rush guys as much this year--Floyd has some great length and ability to get at the QB..Ogbah seems to fit more of our style of drafting bigger stronger Rush backers. I think it is really important we resign Upshaw before the end of the season at this point. Suggs will be back next year but that is a couple of Achilles and you always need rushers. One good thing about our D though is I find our interior DL may be the place where we get the most pressure which is better imo, if you can do it consistently.

But ya agreed we are gonna be a tough spot as I have not even mentioned OL and watching Hurst yesterday and with Monroe never being fully healthy it is a little scary.

Yeah, that's the thing. FA WR can be expensive and who knows if they're good. I honestly haven't seen many bargain WR work out but it does happen from time to time, but even then, not a lot of big-price WR work out, either. It's much better to grow your talent there at WR or inherit it from a team like Pittsburgh, lol. I think WR should still be a high priority. I like Perriman and even if he lights it on fire this year I will stand by this opinion. We need one more deep threat because I can't say for sure Perriman won't have more injuries of this nature in the future, Campanaro has a long list of injuries himself, Waller is a virtual unknown, Marlon Brown & Kamar Aiken are both restricted free agents next year and I can't see us retaining both of them.

I'm not exceptionally impressed with the OLB class this year but that doesn't mean it can't be good and that we can't find gold after others find bronze. I'm hoping a situation happens where a guy like Houston falls to us in the 3rd lol. That would be so nice. What a steal he's been.

The OL is an area of concern for me entering the year and now I'm more concerned than ever. I'm going to be patient, though, because you can never really tell.

So, two notes that I was reading.

1. Kendall Fuller is really falling off hard in this cornerback class. Unlikely he doesn't go in the first, but at this point, it's possible. I'd take him in a heartbeat if he's still there in the second.

2. Apparently a lot of scouts have concerns at this point as to whether Scooby Wright III is big and strong enough for the pros and looks unlikely to go on day one. I'll admit I don't know much about him, but a lot of people seem very high on him

He did lead college in tackles and had 13 sacks on top of that. He is a very gifted played, but I think he fits best with a 4-3 scheme.

I don't really start watching players until after the season, but he was a name I saw on here a fair amount.

Yeah he certainly is a big and a fast man, would be a lot of fun running him come December and January

I hope Bosa somehow falls down the draft board and the Ravens scoop him up. I'd trade up to get that guy. Before anyone says I'm crazy, you can never tell where a guy will go come draft day. See Randy Gregory as an example & Star Lotulelei. People had them pegged as top-5 picks at the start of the season and things changed.

I also like Dadi (a little light, though), Jordan Jenkins (I like him more than Floyd), Ogbah (I like him but I'm not yet convinced he's any better than Upshaw. I'll keep an eye), Myles Garrett, Dale Pierson, Carl Nassib, Quinton Jefferson are all guys I like.

Dadi is a little light which concerns me a bit as well, has some nice burst though as well.

Garrett is a freaking stud, is he eligible for this year though?

What are your thoughts on Calhoun?

Garrett is a true sophomore, so no
