Too Early 2016 Prospect Watch

but again it's go back to the question of whether or not pees will be back here next year. If not we may see a new dc who won't have our guys playing off man coverage so much. I think a lot of people expect him to be fired but I think for once we end up keeping both our oc and dc just to have some continuity for once. The ppl calling for trestman to be fired IMO are nuts. Considering what he's had to work with and the amount of injuries he's still got us as the tenth best offense in the league. I'd say that's pretty good. His play calling has been questionable at times but the more he gets comfortable here the better he will do.

I don't know if Pees will return, but we've had the same defensive system since Pagano and company were here. It has not changed drastically and we still would play a bit of off-man coverage.

Man, does anyone else like Keenan Reynolds? I really want us to draft him I don't care if we try him at QB RB or even receiver, I just really want a Navy player on this team and he looks like a beast.

Like Reynolds a lot although I don't think he would be in the NFL for a couple years due to going to Navy

I believe Joe cardona just got drafted and is currently playing for the pats, so I don't think that would be much of an issue

wow. I wonder if he dropped out the window as far as he will drop in the draft now? Lol I'm kidding- hope he's not seriously hurt and fully recovers

They found weed in the hotel room according to BleacherReport. This might impact his stock.

He's going to find out just how much difference is there between 1st and later round contact.

I can't decide if this is a good or bad thing for us. A team like the Titans could have reached for him early leaving us one of the other studs- or he could fall to the 2nd and be a nice pickup for us.

Don't want him, we have needs, ANOTHER DT isn't one of them. Edited by Cillmatic

I get that we have needs, but if Nkemdiche is available in the 2nd (not saying I think he will be, but playing devil's advocate here), then you absolutely take him.  He's way too talented.

Obviously I really love Kendall Fuller, but I was watching and trying to take out my bias, and I'm not sure he'll be what I originally thought as an NFL cornerback. He's got really good length, aggression, football IQ, awareness, and everything you'd want for a press man corner, but he really lacks the stop and start ability and I question his long ball speed to keep up with faster receivers and I think this could lead to some deep PI penalties in the NFL because he just isn't able to get his head around.

However, I really think he could be a stellar free safety. He's been used in that role, similar to how Webb is, at Virginia Tech. He's incredibly active in the run game and is not the least bit scared to actually come up and try to make a play in the run game or take on a blocker. He's been used as a blitzer by using his length. Again, going back to that high IQ, he just has the range and read and react that teams will love in zone coverage. He just knows where to be. He's also got some amazingly good ball skills when he can see the play develop in front of him. Plus, while he isn't overly fast for a corner, he's got plenty of speed to get over the top. And just consider that he's played corner before, so he can come down and be active in man coverage, unlike someone like Kendrick Lewis.

I can hope a rough junior year will drop him down the boards some and put him into the second round where the Ravens would snag him up to be their future free safety.

I see him as a DE here and I think he could be a real nice fit. Him, Jernigan, and Williams cmon now.

I agree, I would absolutely take him there.

If Robert Nkemdiche is available in the second round you take him and you laugh at all the other teams that let him fall there. If you can gamble and get him in the 3rd, then do that. But there's no question he would be a nice addition in the 2nd and I'd turn the card in before the other team was off the clock.

Yeah, I meant to say earlier that if he's (inexplicably) there in the second then you take him and send thankyou cards to every other FO for letting him slide. In fact, if he falls too far in the first I'd be hoping Ozzie's on the phones and asking about trading up.

It sounds like he was caught with a pretty insignificant amount of weed, and talent-wise he'd be hard to argue against as the BPA at 10, much less 30.

I think Nkemdiche is still a top 15 pick, too much talent to ignore.. when you have a guy that talented on the board somebody is going to roll the dice sooner rather than later because he's a top 5 pick if you can get him under control. In a draft class that isn't particularly strong I have a very hard time believing he will fall all that much. It might scare off some teams at the top of the board but that's about it.

Could you imagine if we landed Bosa with our first pick, then traded up or ended up with Nkemdiche with our 2nd? That would be madness.

Prediction.. Nkemdiche falls, ravens take bosa in the first, trade up to 15 and take nkemdiche, they both go on ir the first day of ota's

nahh, he's not the top player on the ravens board lol

You never know Pees could be in Ozzie's ear saying if he only had Nkemdiche his unit would be complete

from what I've seen from peters he seems to have matured a lot and has become very disciplined. Granted I've only seen a few games of theirs this season- but every game I watched ironically he had multiple interceptions and just played the ball perfectly. Don't hold me to it but I think he actually had 2 pick 6s in his first 2 games played. Just makes you wonder how differently things would have played out had he fallen to us. But like I said if vh3 can be even better than him and play for us I'd be absolutely thrilled.

Watched the award show last night and Desmond king won the Jim Thorpe best defensive back award. Not sure if Vernon was robbed or not but boy does that kid have some crazy hair.

You know who also won the Jim Thorpe award? Gerod Holliman (2014).

Yeah, I admit I fell for the trap. I saw the number of interceptions and it's hard to watch a safety unless it's live. When I started to see film isolating him, it was apparent he had issues.

King is a different story, but the point is that guys with interceptions win the award. It's not an indication of King's success or even Hargreaves' possible failure. No future outlook for either player comes form this award.

I do like King's ball skills, though.

Ya I think some saw the INT's and got overly excited about the idea of an Ed Reed 2.0. It is very hard to study safeties though.

Awards really mean nothing in terms of NFL projection. I still need to take a look at King though, probably will when finals are over.
