Too Early 2016 Prospect Watch

He deserves it but I would be surprised. My Terps are struggling this year and he and Likely are all we seem to have.

It's a bad time to like Maryland sport teams.

Well if you like Terps basketball just wait a few weeks :D Not all is bad in Maryland.

Too bad we couldn't hang on vs PSU. Our DBs failed to make plays on countless underthrown jump balls, was very frustrating. Looks like a little rivalry is brewing with PSU. If Bill O'Brien gets fired (I think he gets another year though), I'd love to see him come to UMD and really build something special.

And to keep it on-topic, PSU's entire D-line looked good today lol, including Nassib, who made a pretty nice tackle on one of our WRs after peeling off his rush in the 4th qtr. And Hack made some decent throws, even if the catch was usually better than the pass. We need all these QBs to push themselves up the draft board.

Hackenburg, Cook and Goff going in the top 10 would be the dream (or at least having big enough campaigns to potentially go before we get the "chance" at them). Might be more optimistic than landing the #1 pick though, given at least one pro scout has apparently called Hackeburg "undraftable".

Also, how'd you get that sig image? If I get a day or two to myself I might have to learn how to use Photoshop and make something similar.

I make sigs on CS6 when school is between semesters. Although this particular one was made by a friend on another forum I use.

I don't. Really that forum is 99.9% American football. It's kind of funny, people on that forum complain about how the site designers just tacked on the "rugby" part, and they want "rugby" taken off because no one talks rugby. Plus there is trolling between the Soccer/Football regulars about which forum is real "football" (they call us hand-egg). And when someone actually does talk Australian rules football, they usually troll the Americans about how theirs is tougher lol, which is probably true.

It's an alright forum, but there's only maybe 40% real football talk. Mostly it's for betting worthless e-currency to see how much you can get for fun, at least that's how I look at it.

/actually I like WalterFootball's forum. a lot of those people are pretty smart

Yeah, things will likely turn around then...hopefully. I'm not sure that Terps team can under perform. That said, man Nassib is a beast. I really am convinced that guy is going to be special.

I'd like to preface this post by saying I'm NOT saying anyone will be the next JJ Watt or even close but...

A guy who really reminds me of that type of player is Deforest Buckner he has the size and athleticism that reminds me of Watt, he has just been insanely dominant at Oregon this year, he looks like the real deal and we are stacked on the D-line but I wouldn't be disappointed if we ended up with him. He truly looks like 10x the player Arik Armstead was at Oregon, we'd have probably the best D-line rotation in the league if we got him.

Why haven't you already

I have a life damnit!

And I just did vs Buffalo. My praises are not as high as yours, but I like him. I think he has an awesome work ethic based off of some of the stuff I've read, and his tape suggests he posses a powerful burst and he knows how to use long arms. But I didn't like hin dropping into coverage and his run defense needs work. But overall I would be happy with him in the second round.

He needs work on his run and pass defense and his instincts are slightly questionable in these areas. He may not ever be a great guy in coverage, but he can absolutely rush the passer..

No doubts there. He has a burst to die for.

If we took him and Boaa in rounds one and two I would die of happiness

Nassib is a guy that I really like. I think the biggest reason that there's not more hype for him is because he isn't tackling trees like the other D-linemen at PSU.

Welcome aboard. Join my bandwagon lol. I love Carl Nassib man. I even created a thread for him. He's criminally underrated.

if we get a top ten picki know draft is 8 months away BUT

Jalen Ramsey, CB, Florida State

Jaylon Smith, LB, Notre Dame

Leonard Floyd, Edge Rusher, Georgia.

Laquon Treadwell, WR, Mississippi

really any of these especially the Corner will be a week 1 starter. With the ravens losing record I switched my work schedule around to watch more college football and less NFL football

other mentionables

Trevone Boykins, QB, TCU

He has the arm, speed, and skill to play west coast and be able to handle the deepball. He is the mobility to be a dual threat and but also with the intelligence to allow the play to develop first. Currently would be a 2-4 round pick. As of now. And with Joes negotiation at the end of the year it wouldnt be a dumb thing to look to draft and develop a QB especially since after this year by the time Boykins rookie contract is up, flacco will be 34 and we could see a drop off in his production sooner. and do you honestly what the game in shaubs hand?

Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State.

He is numbers speak for themselves. 167 attepts 1130 yards rushing this year. We could really use a solid #1 RB moving forward. Forsett is in his 30s his contract only is for 3 years. Now this is only if we are not sold completely on our RB group.

Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama

This is a case for a LB opposite of Mosely, coming from the same school and taking over for Mosely since he will be the #1 once smith is gone. His production speaks for its self, and would be a nice addition to our LB core.

Will Fuller, WR, Notre Dame

This little speed demon would fit perfectly in our offense. Just like some of the other Mentionables. This is a guy at this point we could trade back for and still get in the 1st round. and stock up on draft picks. Baring some weird injury he has the size, speed and production to fit well in our offense.

I think I posted in there as well.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but know Nassib came into PSU as a stick and has slowly been getting bigger and better in turn getting more playing time. Was he a full-time started last year?

I think CBS has changed their prospect rankings a bit. Lynch is now ranked higher than Goff and Tunsil is ranked higher than Stanley. In fact Tunsil is ranked 2nd overall.

No I believe this is his first year as a starter.

So far teams only really have 4 games worth of film on him. Had there been another year or two of film we might be talking about him as highly as Bosa is regarded. The unknown factor is what's causing him to be viewed so low right now. I guarantee come draft day he'll be a very popular name

Has anyone seen much of Missouri C Evan Boehm? Looks a little heavy-footed perhaps and he looks so-so in pass protection, but his run blocking is outright dominant. He's listed at 310, which you take with a pinch of salt but if it's true he's already heavier than Zuttah, and his wrestling background shows with his use of leverage. He's got the upper body strength to dominate and uses his legs to drive his man back. The Missouri RB can get like 4/5ypc running behind him.

Could be an interesting prospect for early day three, and just what we need for Trestman's inside running game.

Nassib is still criminally underrated to quote Grim

CBS has him listed at 320 and calls him a coke machine with arms. Sounds like he's certainly worth a look

Treadwell please

Treadwell should teach our 'vets' how to catch balls in the air.

Too bad his legs are shot.

'Perrimen and Treadwell out for rest of the season' nope, do not want to ever hear that news.

I mentioned him in the O-line thread I started in the draft forum a little while back. The Ravens have issues on short yardage downs and he could really help there. And yeah, he fits the inside running style of Trestman's offense a lot better than Zuttah. He'd be a good pick up as a backup center and guard for a season and then a starting center.

Yeah, I think the first few weeks showed Trestman wanted us to use a lot of inside running plays, and I agree with the sentiment that's been floating around that Zuttah simply isn't strong enough. Again I'm not sure how he'd cope as a pass protector, as he seems to hold his own despite getting knocked around a bit (possibly just flat feet) and struggles somewhat with mirroring, but as far as I'm concerned the starting C job is open season from day one between Zuttah, Urschel (despite similar power concerns) and hypothetically Boehm. The thought of having him and Yanda opening up running lanes at will down the middle is a downright tantalising and I'm sure Trestman would be getting excited by it too.

I saw an article saying he was moved inside because of 1) his leadership qualities; 2) his intelligence at reading defensive fronts (albeit compared to the other Tigers). The article had him as a round 2/3 guy, which may have been a little optimistic, but it sounds like the intangibles are there too.

I was thinking a 3/4 round guy, depending on how he does at the combine. If he's still sitting there in the early fourth, I'd definitely pick him up. In particular, he could be great in our division due to the Steelers and Browns running a 3-4. He'd be the perfect guy to move around their nose tackles to open up the inside running game.

I can agree with most of that. I wouldn't want to use our early third, but our fourth or even a third-round comp pick sounds about right. Be nice to have a solid anchor for the running game again.

I can't be the only one who thinks TCU Doctson can be our AJ Green?

We could probably get him in the 2nd round.  I like Doctson but I would rather have Boyd or Coleman over him.  If Boyd slips to the 2nd round then I think he would be a great fit for us, he is an excellent route runner and has good hands.

Another Pitt prospect I like for us would be James Conner.  Assuming he recovers from his season ending injury what would you guys think of him in the 4th round?  If healthy I would have had him as a low 2nd or high 3rd pick but he could slip due to his injury.  He would replace Taliaferro as our big back
