Leonard Floyd is my favorite olb but knowing our owners Allegiant to Maryland what do you know of that olb with the unique name ? He looks good to me

If our FO had any allegiance to UMD they would have drafted Stefon Diggs instead of freaking TRAY WALKER to end the 4th round. SMH! Our P/K return woes would have been non-existent and we would have had a true #2 WR from the start of the season.

Obviously I'm a big Tech homer and I have my concerns over size, but Dadi Nickolas wouldn't be a bad pick in the mid rounds.

He's small (225-232), but he's fast, explosive, and surprisingly strong. He sets the edge well and is obviously a good pass rusher. If he could add some muscle weight, he could be a good third OLB

wow, he looks explosive and a game changer.  you see him as a 2-4 round guy?

Due to serious weight issues, probably three or four. He's going to have to prove he can bulk up and not lose explosion or speed, but if he can, he could be very good

Whats wrong with his playing weight now?  Who would you compare him to in the NFL?

After watching yesterday's game, If Hargreaves or Ramsey are available I highly doubt we pass on either of those guys.  Hargreaves has the ability to be a shut down corner for us and could be our #1 guy. Ramsey would mostly be used as a FS who can cover and make plays.

What do you guys think of Jaylon Smith for us?  I think he could play ILB or OLB for us and possibly replace Daryl Smith if we picked him

he couldn't play OLB for us, and we don't do well with converting 4-3 OLBs to 3-4 ILBs, our ILBs can't be undersized and jaylon smith is, plus he is gonna be a top 10 pick and selecting an ILB who may struggle in our system would be stagnating in our defense when considering how bad the back end and the pass rush looks. Passing up on superior talents at many of our weak spots for an ILB would be a straight up blown pick.

I agree with that, although I love Smith's covering ability.  That is something our linebackers have struggled with this year.  I think there are only 3 positions we should really go and that's corner, rusher and wide receiver in that order IMO

FS is still a bigger weakness than corner and Ramsey is a generational talent. And yea jaylon smith is a great player but a bad fit in my eyes, we can't afford to spend such a high pick on something like that. We can immediately fix most of our secondary woes with Ramsey, we can immediately fix our pass rush with nkemdiche or bosa, but drafting jaylon smith does what? just convinces offenses to continue throwing deep against us.

I agree Ramsey is the real deal, but truthfully I like Hargreaves better as a fit for our team.  I would not at all be upset if we got Ramsey, I would actually be ecstatic, but finding a shut down corner is necessary in today's NFL.  Also, I am hoping and praying that we sign Gipson as our free safety and then go Hargreaves in the first.  No guarantee it would work out that way but we definitely do need a Free Safety as well as a starting corner anyway you slice it

ehh I'm not giving up on jimmy yet, he's coming off a lisfranc which nearly always leads to a down season, and Gipson would not provide the same presence as Ramsey could, the difference between a good FS and a truly elite FS is huge, it tea your whole defense together and makes qbs and wr's scared, it allows corners to play aggressive, it keeps the qb second guessing allowing pass rush to work, it is just such a huge advantage having a truly elite guy back there, rather than a guy who just won't give up a deep ball

I am not giving up on Jimmy, but him paired with Hargreaves would be a top 5 cornerback duo in the league in due time.  Ramsey would be an excellent pick and has the potential to be an excellent player, but I would prefer Hargreaves over him.  It doesn't mean much though, probably just personal preference.  Either way, we need defensive help badly and if Ramsey is the pick then I will fully support him and be thrilled he Is a Raven.

I think he's currently like 225, 230, which makes him a Kam Chancellor without the coverage skills.

How far do we think Nassib is going to rise? He's played a beastly 3 games but was virtually unknown before this year. Do you think he can push himself all the way into the first if he keeps up this pace?

i doubt it, he just doesnt appear to have some of the things that teams tend to covet for first round edge defenders, he doesnt appear as freakishly athletic as those types of guys tend to be. i could see a nate orchard type rise from him where he pushes himself from the 3rd to the 2nd though

I personally hope not, but I certainly think it's possible. I think Joey is being a bit harsh concerning his athleticism. I haven't watched a ton of Penn State games, but I've watched enough where I feel comfortable saying the guy could sneak into the first due to what amounts as an overall weak draft class.

Nassib doesn't lack athleticism and he's sneaky fast and quick around the edge to get to the QB. This is completely wrong. If there's anything I question with him, it's his instincts, which tend to be hit or miss. I've seen more misses than hits, and this is especially evident against the read option and the run game. He's good when rushing the passer but needs work setting the edge. He uses his hands well, although he needs to do better with his leverage. Athleticism isn't a problem with him, however.

The difference between Nassib and Orchard is Orchard got his sacks through gap blitzes and patiently waiting without needing to consequently disengage from the tackle. Nassib actually beats tackles to get to the QB.

I agree with you, when rushing the passer he seems to be able to shed the tackle pretty effectively and often. I think he could fill in like Pernell McPhee did for us. Strong pass rush, and send him as a passing down Blitzer and let his instincts develop over a year or two and watch him become a stud.

I think Joey was comparing the rise of the prospects, not the prospects themselves

Yeah I think you may be right in terms of his comparison more about his stock may not be high due to no crazy JPP numbers, or even Dupree. That makes more sense

Goff is an impressive kid. He still needs some work obviously, but his movement in the pocket is top notch. He's calm with pressure in his face.

1st - S Jalen Ramsey (generational talent plain and simple)

2nd - CB Kendall Fuller (injured but will be a steal like his brother)

3rd - DE Adolphus Washington (this is the guy getting blocked by 2 guys on every play)

4th - WR Rashard Higgins (playmaker but needs to bulk up)

5th - OLB Yannick Ngakoue (reminds me so much of a young T-Sizzle and a Maryland product)

I thought Higgins is sophomore.

QB Paxton Lynch from Memphis is starting to get a lot of attention. Interested to look into him now.

Ngakoue has received some good praise from scouts. Sounds like he is a day 2 pick.

Watching the Baylor game today, Corey Coleman already has 2 catches and a TD

I'm always scared of taking Baylor WR. I do like him, though.

Ngakoue is a beast, I wouldn't be suprised if he went that early

He deserves it but I would be surprised. My Terps are struggling this year and he and Likely are all we seem to have.

It's a bad time to like Maryland sport teams.
