Too Early 2016 Prospect Watch

992 posts in this topic

Got beaten deep by a Miami receiver because he was too slow to turn his head, then gave up a penalty for grabbing the guy's facemask on the same play - which went for a TD anyway.

Last week he looked lazy and he just gave up a 58yrd pass vs Miami.

Idk I'm just not seeing the hype

Well, one bad play won't change anything, but I admit I haven't watched too much of prospects this season.

I don't like him at corner. His skills are more suited for a safety than corner.

Henry might be running too upright but he's making lot of yards and TDs

Yep, I'm looking at you, BmoreBird22 :P

I wasn't the one who said all that, but he does run too upright and that line might as well be opening holes for mack trucks. Probably leads the NFL in yards before contact.

However, he's damn dominant with blitz pickup for a college back, much like Elliot. That'll get teams very excited over both.

Oh, my apologies - I thought I saw you saying that in one of the threads

Maybe I did in a thread... I don't remember... LiT said it recently on a status

Yes. He's way too upright. He's powerful but looks more like a Brandon Jacobs if anything. I think he's overhyped

He'll be a good complementary back. I don't think he'll do as well, for as powerful as he is, when he's going to have to go through defensive lineman on a consistent basis. With that line, he doesn't need great vision, either, and I haven't seen much as a pass catcher.

I agree fully. If we take him I hope it's for his playmaking skill at safety (or *LB), with his CB work as an added bonus. And if he continues to underwhelm at CB, that could knock him back to the 20-25 range.

He switched positions from last year. He played safety last year was easily one of the best players in college football. They moved him to CB because they had a very talented 5 star freshman safety come in and were lacking at CB with the departure of their two starters. He probably moves back to safety in the pros.

How many more days till we can take Bosa?

We need to start a Blow It Up For Bosa campaign, complete with a website, countdown timer and customised avatars and sig images for people to use.

Flacco would have to get hurt for us to be in a position to draft Bosa

Honestly, that might happen with all these injuries. I think Schaub cursed the team. He needs to go away with his bad juju.

If it does happen, I'll get started with the website.

I hope some of these QBs can make leaps, can help a guy like Hargreaves or Ramsey fall to us.

We will see a run on Lineman like laf year. I swear there were 25 lineman taken in the first two rounds.

I don't know. CBs who are talented is a rare commodity, you just can't find them, also considering the fact that in todays NFL, you can never have enough CBs, a team like Cleveland could even go as far as to select a Hargreaves.

I'm against taking a CB, FS, OLB, or WR in the first round because after a lot of thinking, what we need most is a leader who can energize the team. We need that Steve Smith Sr guy on the defense & even the offense, to a lesser extent. That's why I am OK with us taking whoever brings that attitude back to the Ravens. I'd trade up to get that guy. We need that JJ Watt attitude back on this Ravens team. We need someone out there like Sizzle to get angry and get mad and to smack someone in the mouth and to make the entire team feel it. That's what we need on this team. We need a freaking pit bull on the team. We need a guy to be a playmaker and to take the ball away from the other team, or to get TDs for this team.

If that's Bosa, Ramsey, Hargreaves, then take them. Go for it. I don't care. I could care less what position we take. I'm not married to any position, but we need someone to give this team a heartbeat. Treadwell, Boyd, I'm good with either of them as well, because I think they could give us an offense that would be a real challenge to stop. If Perriman ever sees the field and if he realizes his potential on the field, having him with our TE corps would be deadly if you had a guy like Treadwell.

Two guys who I have watched this year and will be high picks that fit your description are Jaylon Smith and Leonard Floyd.  Both guys are aggressive and play fast for their position.  I would be ecstatic if we somehow landed Smith.  He is smart (Notre Dame), great football IQ, is fast and very physical.  Watch his highlights and its easy to imagine him fitting in as a Raven really well.

You know I've got a Ramsey gif for this.

I still have hopes that Timmy Jernigan might be that guy but he would need to do some quick maturing.

But agree with you 100%. Ravens don't look or play like Ravens without that kind of attitude on D.

Too bad he's regressed.

At CB no less. He's still one of the top FS prospects in the country.

I honestly have the opinion that you bring that attitude day 1. I don't think it just comes out of you eventually. You're a pit bull day 1. I hate to use great players to make a point because it's rare you get guys like this, but Ray Lewis & JJ Watt brought their attitude and fire from the very first day. You could see the energy & excitement they brought to the team. Ray Lewis even said he came here with the right attitude from the very first day of camp & was the leader from go. It's true.

To a lesser extent, Suggs brought the same fire. He obviously wasn't the leader because who's going to try to lead a team with Ray Lewis? Lol, but you know what I am saying. I've never seen the fire from Jernigan that I see from the great, energizing leaders of the NFL.

I don't even see that guy on the field right now. I think we need to go to the draft and get that guy. I hate the idea of giving up the farm, but I do see this quality in Joey Bosa. He plays with fire and passion and seems to be the pit bull we need. That's why I want him so badly.

You know I like Ramsey quite a bit. I'm happy with him if the FO believes in him, but I haven't liked at all what I've seen from him this year. He's been the recipient of penalties himself, and on top of it, he's been a bit immature on the field at times as well. Not exactly the guy you want out there energizing the team. I do like him, though, a lot.

I know exactly what you mean and I think I saw that streak in Jernigan. It just seems to be somehow subdued in him. Perhaps the reason is that he can't be comfortable "leading" because he isn't playing much. Some of it due to injuries and some due to drop in form, causing the rookie to take more than half his snaps. Either that or I was wrong.

Ray, Steve Smith, Suggs, JJ Watt - these guys are extremes that show up once in a decade or more. Not just great leaders but arguably the best players at their respective positions in the league, too.

Bosa seems to fill the mold on both levels, I wouldn't mind betting part of our future on him, by way of trading up. Guy like him most likely will be one lucky team's future.

Free safety for this team isn't an issue that needs to be addressed in the top 10 picks. We already have competent safeties.
