Too Early 2016 Prospect Watch

Treadwell v Hargreaves should be a fantastic match-up today. Could be telling about either prospect.

im coming along on boyd more and more, im not ready to say hes better than treadwell though, treadwell really reminds me of aj green and i think he is the safest bet to come in and dominate as a rookie, i think boyd will be tremendous from day 1 as well but i just think treadwells great combination of size and athleticism and hands and versatility is special.

i also think travin dural is a bit underrated, his separation is out of this world, he is long with solid body control, solid hands, and incredible speed and verticals with refined and explosive route running, i see a jordy nelson caliber wr in dural but more athletic, he is going to get open in the NFL and make big plays often

All the attributes you ascribed to Treadwell are possessed by Boyd. Plus more. Watch the tape. He's running NFL level routes.

I think we'll definitely take multiple WRs this draft, of course we said that last year too but so far this year its completely clear that we need some better targets, Brown has taken steps back each year and Aiken has been a disappointment (except for this past game but we'll see if he can build on it). Without SSS our offense will be lucky to move at all, that doesn't bode well considering he's obviously retiring after the season. Is Ozzie willing to go back to back WRs in the first round in two years?

We're singing that song for years. I'm not holding my breath for '16 draft either.

ive watched the tape and I already know this. Treadwell, however, outshines Boyd by a wide margin in body control and catching tenacity. Boyd is strong in these areas, but not on treadwells level. Treadwell is a big boy and he can still hit full speed in a few steps, stop on a dime, and then attack the ball with more tenacity than Boyd. Boyd has body control and can high point but he doesn't have the same aggression and tenacity during the process of the catch.

Just to reiterate, I like Boyd. If we get a top 10 pick in this draft and we get the price leve of choosing between the 2, I'd be happy with either one, I would have no qualms at all with us passing on treadwell for Boyd, it's a 1A and 1B deal with these 2.

I think I've said this before, but with Treadwell, you're talking about a more explosive Boldin and Jeffery and I know how this board feels about both.

Yeah man I love the idea of Treadwell as a Raven and I don't see us passing on him. He'll be a great compliment to Perriman and a BPA pick.

Wasn't a fan of Eric Striker coming into the season and i have to say he has yet to grab my attention

Jayron Kearse is buzzing hard.

Looks like Will Hill if you ask me

Plus a $5M insurance policy if he doesn't go in the 1st round.

Yep - can't lose.

On unrelated note, Duke Williams has been dismissed from Auburn. Rumour is he tipped the boat over on the weekend, having been "ivolved in a nightclub incident".

His draft stock is likely shot, especially after underwhelming start to this season.

Jack is a special talent, and while I'd love to see him in purple, it would be much more of a BPA luxury pick, and not a need pick. Myles is a terrific athlete, but watching the tape the thing you see missing from his game is a pass rush, which is something we definitely need. It's not that I don't think Jack can't do it, but he was never asked to do it at UCLA. There are plenty of points on tape you see him setting the edge, or covering a slot receiver, but you don't see him get after the QB very often.

While it would be great to see him be able to get after the QB and rotate with Suggs and Dumerville, I think he either projects as a 43 OLB, or an ILB on our 3-4.

As far as his decision, it is certainly risky, but with Gurley last year, we have seen teams take a risk on guys who miss their last year due to injury. Jack also came in as an impact player his freshmen year giving scouts 2 good years of tape to watch. Unless we bomb the season, I don't think he'll be in a range that we can take him without moving up

he is a 4-3 OLB in my eyes, and we have seen what happens when you put a lightning fast but undersized 43OLB in as a 34ILB in our scheme..

I think Jack could work as a 3-4 ILB. He would actually be an excellent compliment for Mosley. That said, there are also some really good players at positions of need that I'd put over him. But if he somehow slipped into the second round because of the injury, then I'd take him in a heart beat. Even if it meant trading up in the second.

Corey ColemaN could be a good pick if we decide to not Pick WR in the 1st. Which I doubt ozzie will pick WR in the first.

Matt Miller currently has Leonard Floyd as his sixth or eighth edge defender and has him going in the second round. He has Jarvis Jenkins as a top 15 pick and as his second best edge defender.

Jordan Jenkins, but ya he's a really good player. Maybe not the same potential as some other guys though

What did he do?

Got beaten deep by a Miami receiver because he was too slow to turn his head, then gave up a penalty for grabbing the guy's facemask on the same play - which went for a TD anyway. Edited by Inqui

What did he do?

Last week he looked lazy and he just gave up a 58yrd pass vs Miami.

Idk I'm just not seeing the hype
