Too Early 2016 Prospect Watch

992 posts in this topic

If I were drafting today(I predict we're in the top 15), I'd go.

3. Sterling Shepard WR- He can flat out play. He runs good routes, has great hands, and can fly if he has to. I think he has every tool to be a capable #2 WR on the NFL level.

Shepard in the top 15 is a reach if I've ever seen one. Maybe he can creep into the first making him a trade back candidate but no way top 15. There would surely be better players available that early. Shepard is good and fearless but top 15 is a reach

We need a center. Zuttah may be cheap, but we might cut him if he keeps it like this. I like Urschel as a guard.. I think we could honestly plug him in and he'd be fine... He has played well and has recieved some playing time I've noticed.

Oh boy....

If we don't address safety in the 1st I like Jeremy Cash

Corn Elder is picking up a lot of steam.

Jaylon Smith is nasty

I would be upset if we passed on Treadwell for Elliot even if Perriman shows up and does well, him and Treadwell would make a great pair.

It wouldn't shock me if we signed a vet from FA, Vincent Jackson is a guy who I have in mind. Iv brought it up numerous amount of times but I really don't think he'll be back in Tampa.

I honestly believe we'll fill out defensive needs through FA and draft. If we do sign Jackson I don't think we'll get a guy like Treadwell and will add to our aggressive approach to Pass Rusher.

IMO, I think FS is the biggest hole on this defense, we have no answer for that unless Brooks lights it up.

Right now, Im pulling for Leonard Floyd, LaQuan Treadwell, Cameron Sutton, or Jalen Ramsey.

I know its never been possible, but man Vic Beasley is doing so good @Falcons right now.

He would've been a baller in Ravens uniform.

Anyone know anything about Madison Mangum from Idaho State? guy has amazing hands and good size. Started out at BYU then transferred (brother is Tanner Mangum still at BYU). Redshirt Jr. so he's unlikely to declare since he's a small school guy.

Center could be an underrated need. We have Ryan Jensen who played very well in the training camp and preseason so maybe the team has a plan for him. Harbaugh was high on praise for him this year. I also think Zuttah can be a cap cut, he was good against Pitt but other than that his play has been inconsistent and even last season he faded down the stretch. I'm certain Urschel will be our starting guard to replace K.O

I know I said I think it's possible we sign a CB, but I feel like Pass Rusher seems a bit more likely through FA. We'll need a back up plan in case a guy we like in the draft doesn't fall to us. It would suck if we lose Upshaw and don't even get a replacement     (even though Upshaw hasn't been that good). We have Za'Darius who's coming along well. I think he's still developing as an serious pass rusher for us. Scotti was right when he said we needed a pass rusher, but clearly WR was the bigger need this time around.  Just in general I see us signing a pass rusher regardless and even drafting one early.

I would like a Pass Rusher in the draft and sign a situational guy as well, and I think Biscotti would too. I hope that some of these QBs like Hakenburgh and Jones rise, can help some guys fall to us.

ALL OF THEM at the same time

Aside from Maryland I don't really follow CFB. I mostly watch for prospects.

None other than John Harbaugh Cheering for his brother.

I feel like wr is now looking like our biggest need unless givens is miraculously a baller in disguise. Treadwell is looking good right now

I kinda agree but not because of how our guys have played, injuries or depth but simply because we should really get over the mentality of expecting guys to step up at the WR position unless we've invested a lot in him. The guys we've all relied upon stepping up have either been undrafted or late round picks, (Marlon Brown, Tom Streeter, Tandon Doss)..ect...They're not guys with raw talent at the position. I'm not calling Marlon Browns 2013 year a fluke, but I think we should stop relying on guys to step up at WR who we haven't invested much in.

I wouldn't be against betting on Perriman, because he's talented and your first round pick, but we really need to see him this year to make sure if we believe he can be a legit #1 option. I'm fine with betting on guys you invested a lot in, so obviously you take Perriman into account when determining if you need a WR but not guys you didn't invest a lot in. It's honestly risky and doesn't work betting on 4's and 5's to become 2's and 3's.

I really think if we don't sign a FA WR, then we'll draft one very early. 1st or 2nd round to say the least. I do like Treadwell as well and I think he could shine here. I also like Boyd who can also do well here. I heavily expect us to address WR. I think this year we have different problems as opposed to last year. Last year we had guys step up and preform well, two of them being Aiken and Campanaro. In 2013 we had Marlon Brown step into the scene. This year that won't likely be the case. In that matter I do believe we'll address WR whether it be a starting FA WR, or drafting one very early. I think the possibility could be us signing a FA pass rusher, drafting BPA in the 1st, and making a trade early in the 2nd to select a WR.

Treadwell will fall like jaelen Strong

Give me Tyler Boyd.

I don't see the comparison. Strong was kinda one-dimensional as a prospect. Treadwell reminds me of a rookie Dez Bryant. He wins his battles in so many ways. He's athletic, strong and has great ballskills. He would be a great compliment to Perriman. I don't see how we pass on him with how the way our WR problems look. I wouldn't have a problem with picking him as he not only be BPA, unless Jalen Ramsey, Leonard Floyd or Vernon Hargreaves are on the board.

I view Leonard Floyd as this years Vic Beasley. He's so natural as a pass rusher. He's still coming along as an edge settler, but man can he rush the QB. He obviously will need to hit the weight room and bulk up but when he does I'm sure he will go top 10 and possibly out of reach. But I really like him for this team.

People are REALLY sleeping on Boyd. He's a looks like he could be a top WR TODAY. He's way better than Treadwell, route running, hands, speed, size, dude could've been our #1 WR THIS season.

Yep. Tyler Boyd is easily the best WR in this class.

Our biggest need is a playmaker. The position doesn't matter and it'll work itself out.

That said, I'm not sure who I like best of the WR but I think both Treadwell and Boyd look legit.

I actually agree. I think he could be very good with us. He and Perriman compliment each other very well.

I think Treadwell is overrated on these boards. He's a good prospect but I'd take any of the first rounders over the last two years over him.

Jenkins over Floyd.

Have C.J and Reggie Ragland ever played together?

Jenkins is pretty fast off the ball but he can't set the edge from what I've seen. Not that it's a big deal because I'm not sure either is very good at it.

So, I'm not sure if I'd consider him a prospect this year because he is only a redshirt sophomore, but I would have loved to see Bucky Hodges as a Raven

im coming along on boyd more and more, im not ready to say hes better than treadwell though, treadwell really reminds me of aj green and i think he is the safest bet to come in and dominate as a rookie, i think boyd will be tremendous from day 1 as well but i just think treadwells great combination of size and athleticism and hands and versatility is special.

i also think travin dural is a bit underrated, his separation is out of this world, he is long with solid body control, solid hands, and incredible speed and verticals with refined and explosive route running, i see a jordy nelson caliber wr in dural but more athletic, he is going to get open in the NFL and make big plays often
