[News] Rookie Receiver Darren Waller Moves Well For A Big Man

39 posts in this topic

I've said in at least 4 different posts here in the last week...Waller will be the steal of the draft. Flacco will make him a superstar, this year. The pre-draft skinny on him included..."has the potential to be a TD machine in the NFL" and " back shoulder throws to him were nearly indefensible". Give the front office a lot of credit for getting this kid. The rest of the NFL was sound asleep.

Trestman now has the ability to put a really big and fast lineup on the field. Waller (6'6"/4.4), Brown (6'5"/4.4), Perriman (6'2"/4.2) to go along with Steve Smith and either Pitta or Williams (both 6'5") as a group would create mismatch nightmares all over the field.

This just might be Flacco's best year as a pro. With Trestman running the show look for Flacco to bypass 4000 yards and go directly to 5000!! The only thing that could stop him is a very good running game!!

This is clearly the biggest, fastest and most talented group of receivers the Ravens have ever had. I'm not sure if Aiken or Butler make the team.

If Torry Smith could start for us as a rookie, as a one trick pony, as someone not having good hands, then Perriman should be getting more respect from those who's bashing him about drops. Perriman will be our Randy Moss. Call me crazy , this kid will be great. Waller will make this team also and will do us proud. I dont see our Baltimore Ravens losing more than 2 games this regular season if we can stay healthy. I SMELL ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP.

I believe that much of criticisms of against Smith were the result of fans simply regurgitating what what they read/hear despite seeing the opposite on the field. If Florio had said that Smith couldn't tie his shoes fans would spit it out as the gospel and claimed that they saw him on the field barefoot.

Waller's size along with speed is definitely intriguing. If he shows well in TC it's going to make the final decision on receiver spots very difficult to make, because if he Does show well, he very well might not make it to our PS. A lot of teams would find such a good red zone prospect pretty valuable. So, do we keep 6 or 7 receivers? After last year's problems with injuries to our CBs, the team might lean towards keeping an extra CB rather than receiver. It will be very interesting to see how things play out. I really would hate to see Camp lose out on his spot, because I do think this might be SSS's last season and Camp shows huge promise, I believe, as an excellent slot receiver. The Only question with him is his toughness. Man, I'd hate to lose him, though. Of course, I feel real sure that at least one of these receivers will end up with an injury and wind up on IR. We all know it's a common practice to protect someone we don't think will pass through waivers to be assigned to the PS. I think our final 53 this year will hold a few surprises.

Didn't we recently have a six foot six guy that was a real bust. I can't think of his name somebody help me out!

Tommy streeter but he was either a very low pick, udfa, or picked from another team's ps so the term "bust" is alittle harsh. He had the size but just didn't develop into what they hoped

Wallers gonna be a nice asset this year. I can feel it. I think trestman and harbaugh both are really high in this guy and I expect him to be utilized heavily . Just hearin that psl conference where harbaugh was already talkin about linin up Waller in diffrent schemes and what not gives me the impression he's pretty much a lock.
