What horrible back to back picks with Bridgewater and Flacco

I love argumentless (is that a word?) qualifications

If you don't like the pick be glad someone is falling. Such a crabby bunch lol

Dunno if bunch is the right word, haha.

Bridgewater and Flacco aren't elite tier players. They have no business being picked in the ten heck 1st round

Um, 11 touchdowns to zero interceptions in a playoff run, and a ton of playoff victories. He's a dropped pass from likely having 2 rings. If I was picking a QB to build a team around, Flacco would be 2 on my list behind Rodgers.

This is a ravens board so i can expect it to be bias. But based on talent and skill Flacco isn't a QB if I HAD the choice of building a team around him. Jury is still out on Bridgewater

No worse than Jordan Matthews and Robert Mathis as the first two picks for a team.

My thought after each of his picks last year

argument could be made for them being a few spots high... Maybe

But both deserve first round picks.. Easily

QB league and each of these rosters will be judged heavily on the QB.. So automatically the last 5-6 teams to choose a QB better be solid at every other position to have a decent team

Bad enough that I get the 27th pick without you rubbing it in. :(

And Flacco at 7 is a steal.

Back when I was coming up with a plan for my first 4 players, Flacco was #3, slightly biased obviously but he has weapons finally and he wins. Also a lot of the QBs out there are getting up there and have question marks for the future.

Haha haven't looked at draft slots yet

If you play it right and time some positions right before a run then you can have a stacked team from that slot

I had Joe rated #2. As you said - there's perhaps a little bias on my part but I am content with it because this isn't a fantasy league. Joe's team looks better rounded than Luck's and he is getting few extra, and quite exciting, weapons this year. Also a smart OC, likely to gameplan around Flacco's strengths. With Joe's long history of playoff success, age, maturity and ability to lead pretty much any type of offense, I think Rodgers is really the only one ahead of him for this type of game. I couldn't be happier getting him at #7.

I think Brady will get 2 games but I have him at #8 because I expect he has only a year or two max and he doesn't stretch the fiekd amymore.

Yeah pretty much my thoughts on Brady, still a good QB but I don't know about his deep ball anymore and how long will he be good?

The thing I like about Flacco is that he doesn't need to have a great offense around him to win, he has gotten by with some pretty average talent on offense. The only real time the entire pffense was clicking was when everything came together in 2012 and giving him a great offense would be fun as well although I wouldn't need to. Basically he would give someone a lot of flexibility with where to go.

I had Luck over Flacco, I know he is one of the most overrated QBs in the league but he is young and has improved every year. Plus he has made the playoffs every year. I see him as a guy who may not be there yet but more than likely will get there in the next couple years and then you have him for quite some time. Either QB is a nice get though, especially Flacco at 7.

It's a tough year for QB. Most of that long lived upper tier are hitting their downfall, and we don't really have anyone ascending into that upper tier either.

Exactly! All the Elite QBs from 3 years ago are past their prime, and are hoping for one last Super Bowl before they retire. Then you also have a whole bunch of young guys on the rise. I think it is personal preference when you are looking for guys on the rise... There's no guarantee that anybody is gonna pan out to become a HOFer. Even with Andrew Luck... The question is will he ever win a Super Bowl (almost like with young Flacco).

So is this league going to be a dynasty league? Or will there be a redraft every year?

Redraft every year

Last year berad didn't take a defensive player until like the 15th round. This year....

Gotta say though, I'm a little disappointed to not see a GIF with that pick.

You remember correctly lol. Although my defense didn't turn out terribly, the DL is a little mismatched and I'm running out of a nickel base lol. But I can do that when Drew Brees, Antonio Brown, DeSean Jackson, and Vernon Davis are putting up big numbers.

Redraft every year

Ah, so that's where the whole production vs. potential argument comes into play when discussing value of players. Wilson may have more longevity and may win more Super Bowls in the future, but Brady will most likely have a better season this one year.

If it makes you feel any better, we aren't projecting exclusively for a single season. I personally prefer to think of it as building a roster that will stick around for the next few years, so youth and upside aren't to be disregarded.

That's how I'm treating it. Makes it more fun that way. Those one year wonder fantasy football leagues kinda miss out because they don't draft for longevity. It's all about the short term stats these days...

Oh, taking shots at my quarterback. I definitely would not call him overrated

Yes he is, he is considered by many to be elite but he isn't there yet. His potential is there but people are being too quick to pump him up to the top tier already. I think he will get there but he isn't there yet. He is my #2 player, I like him more than others a few pages back and I like the pick before you get the wrong idea like you already have. He just isn't as good as the general media would lead you to believe. That is kinda the definition of being overrated

This is definitely a tougher year for QBs though.  The NFL needs a few to step up as the "elite" ones from the last few years are not going to be around much longer.

How is he overrated or not elite?
