2015 Draft a Franchise: Discussion Thread

Actually stayed awake this time. Always seem to get the graveyard shift with this second selection. I've passed on the same first choice target three times thus far, doing so for Ricardo Allen this time around. Allen has entrenched himself as Atlanta's starting FS to this point and has drawn rave reviews in the process. He spent his career as a corner at Purdue and transitioned to FS at the end of the year while on the practice squad. Allen was actually solid in last year's preseason while playing CB, even though he didn't make the final roster. I also thought that most of his weaknesses on tape had to do with his size and lack of press coverage, which wouldn't be as much of an issue at the new position. He was otherwise instinctive, quick to react and had solid ball skills.

Brown is healthy again and is having an impressive camp. With Floyd out with Injury, Brown will be able to show his ability and I think he will have a good chance of getting a lot of snaps as long as Palmer stays healthy.

recently many people aren't adding their draft picks to the big board.  This is necessary so someone can find out if that player has been taken.  Could everyone please add their picks to the board?

I'm taking a kind of different approach with this pick.  Reports out of camp say Josh Shaw is absolutely wrecking it on ST thus far.  I decided to go with a developmental guy that can still see the field in some aspects.  I think Shaw might be a better fit at FS long-term, but he'll operate as my 6th CB for now.

he was going to be my pick and I was going to play him at Safety.

Well then I'm glad I picked him now.  I was thinking about taking the risk and seeing if he made it to my next round of picks.

Well it would have been nice if you took the risk...

Thanks.  I feel like I'm building a good ST unit with McAfee, Zuerlein, Archer and now Slater.

shhh.. don't tell people that special team is actually part of the game.

Oops.  My initial plan was Slater and Justin Bethel here, but somebody took Bethel...

I like the Tillman pick.  He'd been in my mind for awhile, but he didn't really fit what I wanted.

Thanks.  He'll be my 5th CB and my only player with more than 3 years experience at position, so he's there for leadership really.  Anything else is a bonus.

I am going with Emanuel at this point. He will be my Backup SAM and a Passrusher. He plays to the whistle and beyond, is more athletic then I first thought and I think he could thrive in role similar to Collins.

Have been considering Mark Herzlich for a while now. The pause came from the fact that he looks very awkward in space, due in large part to a lack of athleticism. That being said, he was impressive last season when attacking the line of scrimmage and a good run defender can always be of use.

I'm not sure if anyone cares, but I think the numbering got messed up a couple rounds back. I changed mine to be what I think it should be.

My OL should be complete now with Joe Reitz. He's battled some injuries throughout his career, but he's a versatile lineman who can play C, G, or RT.

Whoever is up next, you better find a picture of your player with his arms up in celebration.  Let's keep this streak going.  We're at 3 in a row.

This may be harder than I thought and just a note, Brad Nortman's name is spelled wrong on the big board

That is unless BmoreBird is targeting a former hockey player
