Atleast Arod got drafted 1st in this draft unlike back in 2005 when he came into the league.   (I can't believe it's been 10 years)

Maybe it was better for him that way. He could sit behind Brett Favre for a couple years and learn. He wasn't thrown in front of the firing squad on day 1.

It's interesting, and not coincidental at all, but the OC of San Francisco in 2005 when Alex Smith was drafted is his current  coach.  The OC wanted Arod, the GM didn't think he was ready and drafted Smith. 

 

It's possible he needed to sit, but I always thought Rodgers was the better prospect coming out of school.

The Forum Mock took 3 1/2 to 4 weeks to finish up 7 rounds once we started the draft.  It was a lot of fun though.  This is my first time doing Draft a Franchise as I've only been a member since December.  It will be a lot of fun and will most likely go into training camp and possibly preseason.  Atleast I think that is what will most likely happen.

Yeah, though to be fair it was because there were people from all kinds of funky time zones (who lives in the EST anyway? ). After the mock draft though, 12 hours does feel like a better balance.

After I did the Forum Mock I did another mock on another website.  Well they had never done one and were considering giving an hour or two to make a choice.  Meanwhile they had several members in London.  I mentioned the 12 hours and that is what they ended up doing.  They finished the 7 rounds in 3 weeks. 

 

One thing they did well was keeping people notified a few picks ahead of time that they would be on the clock soon.  Obviously some days go by faster than others.  I remember our Forum Mock had 100 picks in one week.  Theirs was pretty close to the same number.

That's like 5pm NZT and I'll be around at that point if you want to head in for the night and leave your pick with me. Or just trust me to make it, since it shouldn't be too difficult to guess who you'd pick.
