lol PurpleCity posted in the Draft section not too long ago and than went offline, he really wants to add some suspense for his pick.

I quoted him on the previous page and just sent a PM. Intense times on the draft floor. :P

It's because getting quite old.

Romo a complete steal this late. His one big concern for me being the back.

Exactly. You just can't trust him to take a big hit without wondering if he'll get up...

Yeah that back is scary for him this early but he is great value at this point. Also the lack of Murray could be another concern as that run game was HUGE in Dallas last year. Still, Romo I think had the best passer rating last year and you can't let guys like that slide any further

He also had the top  rating through PFFs rating which is more important than the old QBR that the NFL uses.

That is a good point. He could be big enough to run that in the NFL. Problem is when you need a clutch accurate throw on third and long in a playoff game. Can you trust cam to deliver that ?

There aren't many QBs I would trust to deliver that honestly. I think Cam has shown some flashes of being able to drive down at the end of the game like against New England and New Orleans in 2013 but he hasn't put it together in the playoffs yet. I think he could though, I mean he had some really fun games going back to college including that one against Alabama. In terms of guys right now who I would be comfortable with, Brady, Rodgers, Flacco, Big Ben, and Eli. Then you have guys like Brees and Peyton who have done it but also have their warts in that department. Then it pretty much goes to the young guys with upside in the clutch department but haven't put it together yet and while Luck headlines that group for me, I think Cam finds a way in that group as well. He has found his way in the playoffs the past 2 years, he just needs to find a way to get past Seattle and San Fran. I think part of it is Newton isn't ready yet but another big thing is those teams are much better than him as well and he isn't the only QB dealing with that problem in the NFC. Probably not the best option with him again but he is something different to build around which could be a lot more fun than the typical NFL offense.

Good man Truth. Romo was the other one I was talking about.

Thank you. I initially had my fingers crossed that your pick, Matthew Stafford, would fall to me. I know he had a relatively down season but his Offensive Line had some issues in pass protection and I expect him to bounce back. He's also still young and has shown the capacity to be clutch. Good pick on your end.

Still seeing some discussions with players still available being listed. I know it's hard to avoid but please try your best.

Yeah I tried to keep it brief and with info that is well known by everyone but it is kinda hard to go through the clutch arguement without bringing both guys up so I apologize

Thanks, and that is my biggest concern as well, especially since even Romo noted that it will likely affect him for the rest of his career. He is tough of nails, that's for sure. But there's only so much pain one can play through at that age. A worthy back up would be a smart choice.

No, I understand. It's why I noted how hard it is to avoid during a debate because sometimes specific examples are crucial to your argument.

With the 16th pick, The West Virginia Couch-Burners select:

The many faces of Phillip Rivers

This is my all-time favorite:

Kaepernick is definitely an intriguing player.  At this point I would take him as well.  I just wish a QB like him was available at #22 when I selected there 2 years ago or at #23 last year.

Kaepernick was my back up option for Romo. He took a step back last season as a passer and was at times too eager to run, but I am encouraged by the reports of him working on his touch. Either way, he'll always provide a second dimension. Good pick up there.

Agreed. Kap at 22 is a steal. Good value pick

If  you thought Von Miller was good as a 4-3 OLB, just wait until you see him as a 3-4 OLB in Wade Phillips scheme.  He played in a 3-4 at Texas A&M as well.

He represented too much value on my board for me to pass him up for a QB.

I took Von Miller at #23 last year, so he sees no movement in the draft.

The late 1st round is where the variety in picks finally comes in.  Most QBs are gone.

That's interesting.  Where is that thread?

Lol. Can newton at #3

He should definitely be going top 5 or so if you're thinking a long term QB over short term option
