I have Newton way down the list. He's so scattershot. I don't know how you can build something consistent around that.

Yeah his arm is a bit inconsistent but his legs are what separates him as a prospect. Sure there are other running QBs out there but Newton is a guy who actually has enough size where you are comfortable having him run it a bit more. Pair him with a great RB and O-line and things could get really fun. Imagine him with Murray and the Cowboy's O-line and then a speed threat that defenses would have to respect so they couldn't just stack the box. It would kinda be like what happened with Ohio State at the end of the year with Cardale Jones, Elliott, and Devin Smith now that I think on it a bit. It would just be different to see that in the NFL and it would be fun building that, even if there are better options than Newton at QB

That is a good point. He could be big enough to run that in the NFL. Problem is when you need a clutch accurate throw on third and long in a playoff game. Can you trust cam to deliver that ?

Maybe. But I didn't want to risk it and end up with nothing but backups and people who should be backups left at qb, like Cutler.

If RG3 puts in the effort AND they build an offensive line around him AND he learns how to read a defense he has a chance.  One of his problems is he doesn't seem to see the field well.  This is a major problem and most likely not correctable. 

 

I found it really surprising that the Skins gave him the 5th year option.  I guess they wanted to show some support, interesting to see what Gruden thought of that move.

Thanks, and I agree. There are obvious health and age concerns, but I feel that he still has a few seasons of similar production left, and he did take a step forward this season I felt. I didn't think he'd make it to me given how far I am down the list so I'm happy with the pick.
