It was just an Oklahoma-Texas thing to see if it would wake ravensnick up. And I actually meant Brown - long morning and I haven't eaten yet.

How many hours are you behind Eastern time?

It's like 11am on Tuesday right now. It's in the ballpark of 16 hours ahead or something to that effect.

Best values Roethlisberger and Brees.

The pick in between those two isn't too shabby neither...

Eh, not a fan of the guy who made the pick. :P

In seriousness, I do like the Ryan pick. He's a great QB who's been hamstrung by a rubbish supporting cast - the same thing we said about Joe until last season.

these puns are phenomenal

You could say we're onto a Quinn-er? Not my best, my apologies.

This thread devolving into a second dump thread when picks are slowing down is part of the fun.

Haha... Yeah I think he gets a bad wrap around here mostly due to the Flacco comparisons. Bottom line is he's a franchise QB hovering in that top 10 range.

It swould've been a tough decision for me if Big Ben fell though. Ryan is going to play longer but Ben, (as much as I hate him) is a proven winner and clearly a better QB

Actually, I probably would have taken Ryan ahead of Wilson, Bridgewater, and Tannehil. Wilson and Ryan are close for me, so Ryan is obviously much better value.

I've copped a bit of heat for saying I think he could be just as good as Joe if he had our OL - then chuck in Kubiak and a deeper receiving group. He's obviously not as good at the deep stuff, but give him a decent line and a timing-based system and there's no reason he couldn't win a Lombardi himself imo. He helped Harry Douglas of all people get to 1000 yards.

I'd have taken him over Ben tbh.

I liked Donald pick. If you're going to build a franchise from the defensive line out and Watt is not available, there probably isn't a better player to get. Maybe there is one but I like Donald more.

ben in 08 was the single most incredible qb performance ive ever seen and i maintain that to this day, his sb run was the most frustrating, irritating, infuriating, and damned impressive thing ive ever seen(the first 3 because im a ravens fan) and i actually would rank his sb run that year above joes sb run.

and even in 2015 id still take ben over ryan without question, he has the it factor that ryan has seemed to lack so far, and ben also has had dumpster fires for an OL for most of his career and his wr corps havent been half of what ryans have been.

I agree with what you say here. I put Ben number 3 overall. The one factor Joe has over him is the injury factor. Ryan I like I just feel you are more pigeonholed with the type of offense you can run compared to my top 4.

Well it's between three guys right now, everyone probably knows which.  Let's see if nick can make it easier for me.

For one or two years I'd probably take Ben, but for an entire franchise I think you'd get more mileage out of Ryan. It'd also depend on whether you're in win-now mode or don't mind playing the longer game.

I'm guessing I've got the same three guys in my top tier of players available. Not a bad year to be picking in the middle.

That's funny to you? Wilson is great at scrambling and making stuff happen outside of pocket. In the pocket he is not a good QB. He misses so many plays because he doesn't see the field well and looks to scramble instead of going through progressions.

Ryan is great in the pocket, but can do little oitside of it. His arm isn't amazing but he makes the necessary throws. His biggest issue is that he needs great protection to be at his best, not unlike Flacco in many ways.

Bottomline is this, in a good offense with quality OL and receivers, Ryan will do more to help your team wim than Wilson.

Mostly, Wilson is just overrated as a QB. He is a limited player based off what he has shown so far in his NFL career. He makes plays with his feet, but is very dependent on a run game for the offense to work. He hasn't shown that he can consistently win as a pocket QB.
