Which rookie had the best performance in the Eagles game?

Antwan Barnes - 22.26%

Jared Gaither - 16.98%

Prescott Burgess - 26.62%

Le'Ron McClain - 3.44%

Troy Smith - 21.97%

Greg Pruitt, Jr. - 8.73%

To me, this poll is nonsense. Does Troy Smith's Heisman trophy really carry so much weight that he can rack up that many votes after such a shoddy performance? I'm relieved at least to know that Burgess and Barnes got the top picks because they really do both deserve it. How 3 completions out of 11 earns one of the "top performances" in that game is beyond me though. It does make me wonder if people go blindly by labels when they consider a players value. I hope the coaching staff hasnt already tagged Smith, because I saw much much more efficient play from Olson. Im glad hes getting some media coverage as well though, because apparently you need more than talent to get noticed by the public because most people who dont knoe as much about football or its players are more likely to favor someone holding a trophy than someone emerging from the shadows. in fact im gonna keep my own tally for these preseason games and see who gets the edge for the 3rd spot. after the eagles game the other day, id say he choice is clear. Olson 1, Smith 0.

Burgess and Gaither get my votes. Gaither did a hell of a job playing the whole game in Ogdens spot. To me he looked like a veteran in there, and he is so quick for his size it's AMAZING!!.

I don't get how Ozzie finds these type of guys last minute and no one takes them and we get them for little money and turn them into pro-bowlers :). Ozzie has godly talents wont say he is god, I don't want to go to hell but he is close to it. I will say he is the FOOTBALL GOD!! of draft picks, noone is as talent as he is for any TEAM in the NFL<-shonuff.

Take a read of my first post on the report card thread. That being said, Troy had different personnel in the game than Olsen. Blah, Blah, Blah. In a sense I do agree with the fact that he shouldn't have a rating as high as that, but it shouldn't be zero either.

Olsen I feel played A LOT better which I wish wouldn't have happened.. I REALLY want Smith to make the team I am sure a lot of us fan's do and its looking a bit shakey right now, I know him and Olsen are fighting for the spot, even though Smith may get it because of politics and him being the Heisman winner and drafted etc..

thats my entire point. I dont want to see Troy Smith as our future quarterback if he is of lesser quality than Drew Olson. Heisman Trophy winer or not, this team deserves a quarterback that will carry this team on his shoulders and use his skills to pull us through. We do NOT deserve to be handed a qb with a high profile image who will drag us back to the days of old where Raven QBs were a constant disappointment.
