[News] Lardarius Webb Is A Hit Again In Charity Softball

20 posts in this topic

I am embarrassed I missed this. I will have to make a contribution to Webbs foundation. I wanted to go so bad but I had some issues I couldn't get out of. Other than myself, I am shocked he only got 1000 people out there. Remember our riots and everyone saying we have to work together, this is one of those things that benefit the community we should have been better at supporting. I will say right here, next year I am there and I need the commitment of more of us in here to get out and support what makes Baltimore a better community. I am guilty so I have no right to call anyone else out, but I can commit to being there next year and if you read this, you need to commit to it as well. That number needs to be closer to 5000 than 1000. With the loss of Torrey, we probably lost our Ravens vs the Washington team basketball game so we need to take that support and support other causes. Let's commit to getting out there next year.

Great stuff Webby, it's a shame more people didn't come out to support

We had a group that went last year and really enjoyed it. We were looking forward to making it an annual event, but moving it to Friday night killed it for us. We would have had to take off work to get there by 7:00. Sunday was much better.

There were more than TEN thousand, not one thousand.

I am so proud of Webb and his softball game. Wonder why Joe didn't show up for this game. Would've been nice.

He's been at all of the previous ones. Maybe he had a schedule conflict. Three little kids can do that to you.

Lol, Steve Smith literally stealing bases. He is such a character, lol. Looks like all the fellows and everyone had a great time.

Was it 10,000 or 1,000? Regardless this is good for Baltimore. Wish I could be there.

Well, the article says "More than 10,000 people sprinkled the lower bowl of M&T Bank Stadium to watch the defense get its first victory over the offense in Webb’s charity game."

The reporter at first made a typo error reporting 1,000 fans in attendance then correct it later to 10,000. I had to revised my comment when I noticed there was a correction.

I just watched the replay of the game on TV and I'd say the crowd was somewhere in between the two numbers. I'm glad they taped it. It was hilarious.

I'm sure he's been chasing them around when he has the time. Totally understandable.

No ond can doubt that Lardarius is a class act. Not only with his charible endeavors, but with his unselfish actions to lowering his salary for the good of the team. When was the last time you saw one of these egomaniacs do that? He is a great example to us all of what a human being should be. Rooting for him to finally stay healthy this year. He deserves a break.
