I've gotta say it's about time. I was hoping he'd retire with Ray, but there's something cool about retiring with Polamalu too. Both first-ballot HoFers imo, and I think it would be cool to see them enshrined together. Two great rivals.

Knowing Ed, he did it because he wants the utmost respect over Polamalu, believing he'll at least get in over him..lol

Ed propably was my biggest inspiration growing up on the football field. I always tried to model my game after him and watched tons of tape on him to soak up everything he does.

Reed was a magnificent football player, maybe even the greatest safety of all time, but he was an even better person for the community

I will always have huge respect for this guy and hugely enjoyed him driving opposing QBs crazy on the field.

Enjoy your retirement and please come back as our Coach, Mr. Reed!

Don't see both going in the first year but we'll see. Happy he's doing it for the 20th anniversary... and to get in ahead of Troy.
