[News] Ravens Give Marc Trestman Bears-Like Weapons

A Redskin fan buddy of mine said to me that "Perriman's dreads makes him look like Predator, and then you guys drafted Mad Maxx! Ravens are rocking now!" I concur with his observation :) GO RAVENS!

Kamar Aiken and Marlon Brown ain't no "munchkins" either, so this ought to be a strong squad if the two main rookies pan out!

Kamar & Marlon have already "made their bones"!

Plus, if Trestman's going to tinker, then it stands to reason we'll see Justin Forsett in more patterns for 2015?

Looking at QB height and height of receivers currently on the roster (WRs and TEs), it would appear that the Ravens are the tallest in the league and may just be able to dip and dunk their way into the end zone this year. Can you imagine Flacco looking at Darren Waller and Crockett Gillmore in the endzone? 6'6" all the way around. One, two, three, JUMP! Touchdown :)

After the loss to the pats i would say the ravens fanbase mood was excited at the prospect of seeing how kubiak and our offense would take things further in the new season, at least I was. The mood quickly plummeted when he left, I can confidently state that after the draft; its freakin sky high now!!!

Does anyone remember smith sr's diving catch during the preseason? I thought, ooooohhhhh we are back to scaring folks!!....guess what I'm thinking right now

Love the new draft picks, really excited to see us perform. The book is still out on Trestman, the Bears Offense ranked 21 in 2014 per Espn, Ravens were 12th. Hopefully Trestman can get us in the top 10, if not top 5 this year. http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/total

You should look at the 2013 season instead.  2014 was a bad year for Trest when you consider a) the play of Cutler and b.)the fact that their Offensive Coordinator spoke ill of Cutler behind everyone's back to the media.  That's the definition of dysfunction.

trestman is a very very good off coord. cutler has cost many coaches their jobs. trestman will do just fine. aside from sss we are young at wr and te so there will be growing pains.

C-mon Ryan Mink you could have come up with a better headline than that! How did all those weapons workout for Tretsman in Chi-town? Not smart.

Imagine a 6'6 240lbs WR, a 6'2 speedster, a 6'4 big bodied TE, along with Marlon and Aiken and you have some serious help in the passing game as well as some decent blocking downfield. Not

With S.Smith SR leading the young WR group and Flacco throwing the ball it is going to be a very fun year indeed...

I read the title as Bear-Like, as in they have ursine properties that make them quite grizzly and ferocious. I honestly find it more applicable.

This Darren Waller kid will take at least a year to develop so don't look for him to be on the field at all this year. Im more excited to see what improvements Brown and Aiken have made and also Campanaro working the slot.

Why do I get the feeling that Trestman's calling was to be the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens? I truly believe he'll stay as our OC for a long time as will Dean Pees our DC! They are both bike lovers if I understand correctly! Cool stuff!

Since Darren Waller needs time to develop, I turn him into a TE. Another 15-20 lbs and he'd be a beast.

Does the computer program come up with these titles or is it you Ryan?? I think the title is a little confusing.

Uhmm...yeah but we are Ravens like not bears like.

The players themselves are like fearsome predators, i.e. a bear. They have bear-like weapons to dismember opponents and catch footballs.

If every team's players had to match the attributes of their mascot then Arizona's players would subsist on a diet of seeds, berries, and insects; New York's players would shuttle passengers around in their fuselage; and all of Cleveland's players would be brown.

Just like Kubiak in Houston, Trestman was stuck with a descending QB. Cutler is a carreer killer.

We got a predator at Wide Receiver, and a road warrior at TE. Sounds deadly lol.

When San Diego let go Cam Cameron I wanted him in baltimore, when Houston fired Gary Kubiak he was on my wish list. Hope Trestman can do something these guys couldn't do. Help January Joe reach the pro bowl and reach that 4,000 yds passing.

I'm more anxious to see how this dude benefit our offense. You don't get as much clout as he has without having a certain amount of offensive prowess and ability, I can't wait to see how he uses his new found weapons.

You never know about some of these other NFL organizations. If Marc can continue the success Kubiak had last year and actually build on it (which I'm certainly hoping for), the Ravens could be looking for their 5th OC in five years. It only took Kubes one year to get another shot, and a lot of guys are more successful the second time around. Belichik, Carroll, etc. I wish him well!!

This topic has fancy titles but Trestman used the "earn it" routine.  I think both of these players will produce simply because they are adopting a pro system, want a spot on a traditional playoff team and the Ravens mystique is unique.
