[News] Late For Work 5/6: Impressive Draft Now Has Ravens Favored To Win AFC North

Also I'm not crazy about all of this ZaDarius Smith--Pernell McPhee talk. Like when they wanted to minimize the CJ Mosley--Ray Lewis comparisons, I say ease off on the McPhee comparison because those are some big shoes to fill as a rookie. Smith actually reminds me more of Upshaw, since Smith doesn't have great burst off the line. ...a lot of people on this forum compared John Simon to Jarret Johnson...

When you're an organization in as much disarray as Cleveland it's normal to lash out at your peers. I think because of the history we share that we're always the recipient of that hate. I don't know how many times I have to hear from Cleveland fans about how messed up it was what Art did to them and blah blah blah, despite the fact that their city wasn't without a team for very long at all! At what point do you move on and focus on your current team?

The Ravens can 3 peat just gotta STOP giving Super Bowls away on silver platters! Big jen got one from the Ravens when troy stripped Joe now brady got one because of a very very very bad pass! Lets do this!

Two things I disagree with. First, neither of Flacco's interceptions were terribly bad passes - they were mostly due to exceptional reads by the Pats defense. In the first, Torrey had previously torched Devin McCourty on a play-action over route; later on, Kubiak flips the exact same play - you think Dmac isn't going to pick up on that?  In the second, Duron Harmon waits until he sees Flacco go through his short yardage progressions, and only then does he break perfectly to the corner where he knows Torrey will be.

I also don't think that we would have gotten past the Colts the way the Patriots did. Much worse matchup for us, and the proof for that was evident in the 5th week of the season, which was before Jimmy Smith even got hurt and our CB woes began.

I disagree. Baltimore arguably played against more top offenses last year then Pats. Even still with our DB's dismantled and the Pats having Revis our passing defense stats are close. Double check me but I believe Pats allowed 140yrds less last season passing. Thats less then 10yrds a game better despite not missing their starters various times of the year. Over all combined we allowed 115 less yrds on us then the Pats. The Pats DB's out played us in basically name alone. Our team could of stepped to the plate.

"But, one move that could fly under the radar as far as the compensatory picks are concerned is the trade up the board in order to select Williams. Without the extra firepower, the Ravens may not have had enough ammunition to make Newsome comfortable enough to sacrifice a fifth-rounder to move up three spots in the second."

I reckon Oz would still have pulled the trigger, Williams is way too good to let go like that in the second round, especially to let the Steelers get him.

Last time I checked the game is played on the field not on paper. All of these so-called experts always seem to miss the boat. Of course they will put the RAVENS down. It's what they do. Pittsburgh having a better draft than we did? Get a life. we'll see very soon.
