Ravens - HBO Hard Knocks (2001). Would you like to see the team on again?

36 posts in this topic

It was great watching the Ravens on Hard Knocks after their Superbowl season.

Would you want to see them featured on Hard Knocks again?

You gave me a mini-heart attack with my inference from the title lol so I changed it to be more descriptive.

Also, from the sentence above you can probably gather my sentiments about them potentially being on again.

No. It was fun to see them, but I don't want any unnecessary distractions. This team has SB potential and we don't need anything extra getting in the way.

I would be all for it. I feel like if the team couldn't handle the distractions of it then maybe we aren't ready for a superbowl. Would be awesome to see the behind the scenes of guys like Flacco Tucker ect and to get to know our rookies a bit better.

I liked watching the Ravens on it, but I would prefer not to have them on it again.  Seems like it has been a distraction for teams recently.  Only way the Ravens could be on it this year is if they volunteered and I can't see Harbaugh agreeing to that.

I'm with it. I don't think it's that much of a distraction for a disciplined team.

Maybe I'm wrong here, but isn't Hard Knocks basically camera men and media members filming practices and meetings? Or is there more to it than that?

I don't think we have any Shannon Sharpe type personalities on the team right now. The guy was hilarious!! "I said to Goose, I NEED RESTITUTION!!!!" I was in tears!!!!

But I don't think Harbs is the kind of coach that would want us to be featured.

No. It's distracting and a jinx.

The year we did hard knocks (2001), we went 10-6 after our 1st Superbowl win and made the playoffs. 8-8 the season after our 2nd Superbowl win, missed playoffs, no hard knocks.  So what jinxed our 2013 season?

You obviously haven't seen footage of Suggs behind the scenes.  Jacoby Jones "would" be good TV, but oh well.

I'd rather not, it is a cool show but I like learning more about other teams through it and I also see it as a bit of a distraction

Losing Jamal Lewis and Leon Searcy early in camp.

I would love to see it, but for the good of the team, no.

However, I wish they could record teams in more depth....Release it like 5 years later so from a strategic stand point it won't hurt them or reveal too much. I'd love to see them prep for opponents and game plan without much censorship.

Suggs pales in comparison to Shannon. The guy was an absolute riot!!!! Shannon was just so loud and obnoxious. Suggs is subdued compared to Sharpe.

Agreed. As a fan, of course I'd love to see this. Any chance to see the team from a new perspective is a great experience for fans. But, there's obviously a reason most teams do not want to be involved in this show. The NFL actually put in a rule so that teams can earn the right to NOT get picked for Hard Knocks based on how well they perform. So, if it's viewed as bad for the team by the people who actually run the team, it probably is bad for the team.

Regardless of those of us saying it wouldn't be a good idea, if it every happens again, I'm sure we'd all watch and enjoy it.

as everyone else said, too much distraction. plus i feel like the team may have lost some of that entertainment factor, i mean we had ray as a youngin, shannon sharpe, goose, mccrary, and billick when he was still his flamboyant aggressive self, that team had some real characters that made for great entertainment, and our team overall lacked the discipline and class that it has now, it just wouldnt have that same jazz from '01, the ravens seem like more of a brotherhood than any team in the league but it is strictly business at all times, except for team photos lol

Takes you away from the game, and get too much into the players personality/lives.

In other words, they make football players look stupid.

In theory it wold be incredible to watch with all the personalities and talent we currently have but like other's have said it's a distraction from football and it makes players more worried about trying to be entertaining on TV than absorbing what they're learning in practice. As awesome as it would be I have to say no because it creates a toxic practice environment and that's why teams are so hard pressed to do HK these days.

I wouldn't mind. We're disciplined enough to deal with the attention, imho. And the more I see of the Ravens the better. ^_^ Sizzle would be hilarious on Hard Knocks, no doubt.

I don't think Jamal Lewis would have helped our 2013 season - healthy or no. :P

No. While It would definitely be fun to see, I just prefer to not tamper in any manner. We could be Super Bowl bound, let them GRIND!

Once was more than enough. The time they did it is still the best ever. So why mess with the distraction?

Without warning, Let the team run straight through the league like a freight train! They won't be ready. We all saw in our last super bowl run what Flacco can do with a reasonable cast of weapons, plus the D is even younger, faster, and more athletic! Don't let Hard Knocks anywhere near this team!

Distraction? I don't see how. If anything, it would bring a little light-heartedness to the brutal summer camps

I think it would be cool and get me to watch the show, which I don't, but I don't think I'd want the distraction.  Then again, if we handled the Ray Rice distraction, we could handle the distraction we would get from this.
