I think I like the way Joe keeps his priorities straight. The draft picks will be there when he gets a chance to concentrate on them. Three little rug-rats - not so much!

Just once I'd like to see Joe have fantasy value. I know we all couldn't care less, but I swear the only reason why most people in America think Joe still sucks despite all of his statistical landmarks is because they see him ranked as like #18 in fantasy football and that's the only way people know if a player is "good" or not these days. If he can touch top seven this year, he'll finally get some respect and I won't have to exhaust myself arguing with fools about Joe not being an elite QB.

If you want Joe to get more recognition, then forget the numbers. Just root for him getting rings!

They should have said more guys to throw to, when you put it the way they did as "now he has guys to throw to" makes it sound like the others were chopped liver....:)

Now, we'll see Joe "develop" Perriman and Williams to put this noise about drops and "bad hands" to rest!

Sad to speculate that if Dennis Pitta takes the field, I'd be frightened he'll do irreparable damage to himself! Hope cooler heads prevail.

He's no longer a necessity- time to move on! :oldwiseman:

Not having Pitta wouldn't spell "Doom" for our season; however, a player of Pitta's caliber is always a necessity for a football team.

I think Pitta is plenty smart enough to know if it is worth it, as he already has money, so he will do whats best for him....And i'm sure Joe is in his corner to do what is best for him health wise...

I do, but a ring and an SB MVP award haven't gotten him recognition. At some point, he's going to have to put up numbers if his fans are to include any more than just Ravens fans. I hope this is the year. Obviously winning comes first, but you can definitely have your cake and eat it too in this game.

Winning the SB HAS gotten him recognition, but it hasn't made believers out of everyone.  Getting that 2nd SB puts QBs in another level, and honestly believe that Joe can win at least 2 more SBs in the Harbs era

I guess we will see if the Ravens will be able to develop our new tight ends. Once upon a time it would have been a no brainer having had Heap and Pitta start as rookies here but we lost our long time TE coach Wade Harmon last year to accommodate Kubiaks buddies. The long term expertise and institutional knowledge was lost for a one and done OC. I liked Kubiak but I didn't like that move. Also, I guess we will finally put to rest the questions regarding if Flacco had round 1, A grade WR talent would he and the Ravens be able to develop it. I think that Ozzie has put the talent there one year before Flacco's contract will be reworked to see if he can take that talent and do something with it. We know the Ravens don't let dust settle on players too long and it's not outrageous to think the Ravens might look to make a change if Joe doesn't end up producing with this much talent around him and this good of a front line. I am not advocating they do it I am speculating that with the organizations history would the FO consider it.

Glad to hear Joe is upbeat. Terrell Pryor is available and cheap! Might be worth a look as back-up. Won't cost you anything. Still young and teachable with some experience. Just saying.

I think the FO is committed to Joe, like they are to Harbs....Flacco has never had a losing record as a pro QB, and has either the most wins or close to it since he has been in the league.....In our 20 year history we have never had a franchise QB until Joe, and no way we let him go anywhere...He has had 4 OC's yet he keeps adjusting and winning, this might be the first time in a while he might have somewhat of of a similar offense with Trestman....And Joe fits the Ravens image, everyone hates us, and wants to disrespect us, until they can't, because we are almost always make the dance, and never one and done, and winning most playoff games on the road...:)

The "fired up" comment was just a PC media answer that Harbaugh gave when asked about Joe's response to the first 2 picks. When asked the question, Harbaugh started laughing, then asked Ozzie, "should I tell them what he said?" They apparently didn't think it was a good idea, so Harbaugh simply said, "he was fired up." I wonder what Flacco really said that had Harbaugh laughing and had Ozzie thinking it wasn't appropriate for us to hear.

Probably something along the lines of "It was about time you did" but with more adult words and emotion.

That sounds about right.

Yes, he has gotten some measure of respect (finally). I think a big part of it is, not only his SB win, but the fact that he's been a post-season stud. Still, there will always be an element of fan that rates a QBs value based on where he would draft the guy on his fantasy team. I still don't think Flacco is really going to be a fantasy/stats star, even with the infusion of young talent at the receiving positions. Big passing yds just isn't our game.

This ^^^  both from why many fans rank Joe where they do and on the fact that we all couldn't care less.

P.S. do yourself a favor and don't exhaust yourself arguing with fools :-)

I really am excited about what this draft will mean for this team. I am trying though to temper expectation on their instant impact. It is really hard for rookies to come in and take the league by storm ... especially 21 year old guys with only a couple years college experience like Williams.

The evaluation on these guys need to take time. I'm ready for everyone's head to explode the first time Perriman drops a pass or when Williams misses a block and Joe gets hit.

Sure, I'd love for Perriman to come in and show us a Randy Moss rookie season, but let's be careful not to put too much faith in them being world beaters on day 1.

Who cares what the fantasy fools think. There aren't many teams out there that wouldn't kill to have Flacco

as their starting QB. I would take Flacco over Manning any day if I had to win a big game. Manning only has a SB

win because that year they had a really good defense, they won in spite of Manning. In the 4 playoffs games the year Manning won his ONLY SB, he had 3 TD's and 7 INT's!

Anyone know anything about this guy?

Ravens signed East Carolina WR Cam Worthy to a three-year contract.

Worthy (6'2/211) bookended Justin Hardy at ECU, amassing 74 catches for 1,311 yards (17.7 YPR) and six TDs in two seasons after transferring from JUCO. Worthy's special teams experience gives him a good shot at landing a roster spot, and plus athleticism makes him an intriguing long-term prospect.

Anyone know anything about this guy? Ravens signed East Carolina WR Cam Worthy

From NFL.com:

ANALYSIS

STRENGTHS  Good size with long arms and big, strong hands. Can elevate and high-point his catches to win on jump balls downfield. ECU quarterback Shane Carden showed confidence in Worthy's abilities to go up and make plays. Carden gave him every chance. Usually tracks ball well and owned the back-shoulder throw. Obliterated Virginia Tech with variety of deep catches in early season upset in 2014, finishing with six catches for 224 yards. Helped out quarterback by working back to throws and digging out worm burners for catches.

WEAKNESSES  Lacks quickness and athletic traits. Doesn't have the speed to get by cornerbacks consistently. Slows into breaks, giving hints to defensive backs about his intentions. Fails to shield throw from cornerbacks on underneath work. Missing acceleration off snap and out of breaks. One-speed receiver who can get hung up by physical cornerbacks. Was suspended for two games during 2014 season for what school termed a "verbal disagreement" with another male student.

DRAFT PROJECTION  Undrafted

BOTTOM LINE  Tall receiver with marginal deep speed but a plus ability to challenge for the deep ball and come down with it thanks to his long arms and body control. He doesn't have the quickness or route-running ability to free himself underneath so he needs to find an offense that allows him to play downfield and win with size.

Prediction: Our Joe will complete 330 passes, 63% completion, 4100 yards, 28 TDs, 12 ints and a passer rating of 91. He will be picked for the Pro Bowl AND will play (unless he's already knocked up Mrs. Our Joe). And you know what?? I'll take it and run! Oh, I almost forgot...two or more playoff wins!
