[News] Late For Work 5/5: 13 Ravens Draft Reactions Guaranteed To Make You Smile

50 posts in this topic

With all the chips on their shoulders which every players seems to have now, it's about time for Ravens to put them on their uniform ;) Hope these guys are punishers! I can't wait especially for Ravens-Steelers football. I want to see fear in the eyes of the opponent...

Urschel, your work off the field shal never go unnoticed. Giving a lecture at Hopkins is an honor that only a few people earn. I am very impressed!

I'm liking the Super Maxx nickname (it has an air of violence to it) better than Mad Maxx although you want your TE to play angry and punish defenders.

Perriman a bust already? What a joke, I bet he would have fought for that ball in New England that Torrey didn't.

Flacco, its your turn to prove to everyone that you are indeed a franchise quarterback. Perriman, maxx, camp, brown, and all of our WRs need your help to develop. Ozzie and FO have brought together a young group loaded with potential. Its up to you to bring it out of them. Make us all proud Flacco and send these guys to multiple probowls.

Perriman rocking the "Preadator" look is hilarious.

Now that the draft is over, it's easy to see just how silly Mock drafts are.

Just as silly are pundits grading teams and players right after the draft. Wait a couple of years.

I wasn't here for all the Steeler heartbreaks that happened before. I don't really hate the Steelers. I don't hate anyone except maybe one Steeler fan who will soon be out of my life for good. Maybe if the Steelers beat us enough I can hate them but not yet. Now neg me. Maybe I need to learn to hate more.

Concerning Perriman being a potential bust, until someone shows me an expert with a crystal ball, I don't buy into much of what those boys sell. These are many of the same people who, three years ago, gave the Seattle Seahawks draft class an F. That was the draft that gave them at least three players that played significant roles in Seattle's play off success. I wish I could fail like that. Experts are over-rated.

Tho it killed me when we lost Ngata and McPhee, I am very confident that our front 7 wont miss a beat. Top-5 front 7 is the least i expect of them. Carl Davis, Brandon Williams, and Jernigan are all first round talents that magically fell to us late for whatever reason. We are so loaded at Dline that KLM Urban Canty Bulkidi and Guy could find themselves traded for a secondary player. Keep in mind we have the most underrated Dline that will bring national attention to themselves this year. When we talk linebackers, I don't think anyone can argue against them being top 5. D.Smith, Mosley, Suggs, and Doom are all guys that could make the pro-bowl and have proven their quality. We lost McPhee yes, but he really was the best backup in the NFL. We still have quality linebackers backing up our starters. Maybe no as good as McPhee but their called backups for a reason. Starters are what really matter and we are set.

Anyone who isn't sure that Ozzie stole Maxx Williams from the steelers, here's two facts:

1.) Ozzie won't just throw away a pick to trade up on a hunch or "just in case" - he'll do it only if he knows he MUST do that at a certain point;

2.) the steelers took all their allotted 7 minutes after we took Williams. That would either indicate that they were confused and had to readjust their draft board or strategy - or that they were waiting for a trade offer to trade down, because they had no player left on the board they wanted to take at that point - and we know they would have needed a starting caliber TE...

Pretty sure he already cemented that idea after winning the SB and continually taking his team to the playoffs (even going as far as winning at least one game in the postseason each time they've entered).

Gordon McGuinness is such a well estalished analyst that I've never heard of him right until now...

As for busts: every single rookie is a potential bust - just like every single rookie is a potential hit. Is Perriman guaranteed to be a hit? No. Is he guaranteed to be a bust? No.

The next couple of years will tell us.

They called Keenan Allen his first year out of the draft a bust and he played as the #1 receiver in San Diego. Same with Panthers receiver Kelvin Benjamin. Honestly experts aren't experts year after year when it comes to the NFL. Honestly even if Perriman didn't pan out to be an Andre Johnson/Dez Bryant that people compare him to out of college he will still be a #2 because of his speed to take the top off defenses. But I don't think he will be a bust because he is very good at diving for catches and readjusting his body to have a chance on plays. If Ozzie drafted him in the 1st round after he learned from his last few 1st round receiver busts I think there is really something special in this guy.

I just can't help but to hate the Steelers. It's in my DNA. What can I say... I am a Raven fan not to mention a Baltimore Colts fan for life.

If you're too early for the Steelers-Ravens rivalry, then you'd probably have more emotions for the Ravens-Pats rivalry instead.

I've always thought the same thing. It's interesting contemplating the top 10 but after that it's generally useless. I still enjoy reading them, I just don't believe them. :)

McGuinness grading Breshad a bust ... wonder if he also rated him as undraftable. I'd bet not.

To us Definitely! To the rest of the world, not quite. If Flacco can develop this group of WRs into studs then there is not debate at all.

Once you take your team to the playoffs in almost all your years here, win at least one game each time and then win a Super Bowl while throwing no INTs in the process....what else can you prove?

They called Keenan Allen his first year out of the draft a bust and he played as the #1 receiver in San Diego.

They called Torrey a potential bust - for the same exact reason: too many dropped passes in college...

Better: many analysts said it was a huge reach from Ozzie to pick Ed Reed in the first round...

Number 1-We are the Ravens, Flacco could win 5 more superbowls and our water boy would get more credit for those than Flacco.

Number 2-How about we all take a note from Flacco himself, and not care one bit what others think. Flacco will have a good year with these receivers.

Immediately after watching his highlights, thats exactly what I thought about. I love the way Perriman goes up and gets the ball.

would love to see someone collect the expert analyst predictions for last couple years to show how wrong many are (perhaps with examples from each) but nothing the fans don't already know. What a dream job, passing off an opinion as fact, getting paid for it, and nobody tracking their success at it

Maryland's no "NFL Factory" like many other colleges!

I was worried about Torrey's hand, initially, but once he got with NFL-level coaches and instruction, he panned out!

I believe Perriman will surpass Torrey and be a fixture here for some time!

I guess if perriman was taken later it probably wouldn't be that big of an issue to note. Howver stop bashing torrey when your covered by the corner and saftey behind u and u expect this man who has fought plenty of times in Ne even his rookie season you expect what if he did have enough to room to jump then what the ball go off his hands and then its picked regardless or perhaps he luckily catches it then gets injured and he can't finish u have to consider all options before being blind sighted by things consider if you were running at full speed being squeezed could you really do anything because fyi there was an open kamar aiken on a shorter route no defenders easy touch down

Just remember, before torrey didnt magically knock that ball down, LEE EVANS DROPPED the pass to superbowl. oh and cant forget Clayton
