[News] Draft Finally Fell Ravens' Way To Fill Needs

46 posts in this topic

OMG our offense is going to make so much noise next year. We thought last year was a wake up call, wait until the season starts. We have Heap 2.0 in Williams, McPhee's replacement, a nasty DT, a potential featured RB and Perriman who could take the top off every team in the league. With Marc and Joe, lawd this is going to be a amazing season. That Seahawks game is looking sweeter and sweeter the more I think about it.

To EllicottCityRaven....Smith has been described as Pernell McPhee 2.0 by Harbaugh. Every time they looked at a clip of Dupree, "Smith was in the frame". Davis was a potential first round pick who stated he was the best defensive tackle in the draft. Reports on Davis included "grows roots against the run" and "has dominant defensive traits, will be a rotational player in Balt". If Davis plays that will be because he beats out Canty, Urban, Tyson, Means and KLM....no easy task. The winners of this competition will be among the best in the NFL. Baltimore's front seven will be one of the tops in the NFL, as they were last year.

Thanks

Jamie dukes did not rate the raven very good in the draft

That guy bad mouths the Ravens ALL the time. I pay No attention to him. He is Obviously not impartial and objective. He has an agenda and it is to downgrade the Ravens. He's Always done it and I think that no matter what we do he Always will. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain!

Oh yeah, I failed to mention that he is pretty much alone, All by himself on his assessment of our draft. I've heard nothing but praise and good grades from Every other talking head about it. He's a Bozo, bozo!

Interestingly, I was "good-to-go" after we picked Maxx Williams!

I was feeling like, "Hey, Rashard Perriman and Maxx Williams- GREAT!" and ready to call it a wrap, feeling pretty good!  :D

Then, by the time Oz & Co got down to listing the UFAs we picked, I was breathless - had to grab my inhaler!  :help:

Kidding, but still giddy! :229031_rofl:

Hey, Mystigo, and jacket too, you guys have to know how happy this RavenManiac is right about now. As you guys are aware, I've made NO secret about my desire for Ozzie to Finally make an attempt to get Joe, in particular, and all the rest of us a true #1 receiver. Been asking for it for YEARS! And he might have Finally just done it, and then gone out and got him, and us, the best pass catching TE prospect in the draft to boot. Man, I almost feel like someone is going to come along and pinch me so that I wake up from the dream I feel like I'm having. I truly believe that Perriman Does have the potential to be that #1 guy, man. I'm a happy camper, a Very happy camper. If I AM dreaming, please, don't wake me up, everybody!

Pretty much everybody liked this draft a lot... except Mike Preston.

I don't know what Preston's problem is. He seems to be pretty negative on us quite often. I think he may be hanging out with Jamie Dukes a bit too much. Oh, and add Boomer Esiason in with those guys. The "three amigos", I, for one, could do without them. And it's a bit more irritating to me when all the "negs" are coming from Boomer. I mean, he Did play for Maryland in college. Phooey on the three of them. Be impartial and objective, don't have an agenda, or give up the mike, in my opinion.

I can honestly say that we are one of the few teams that are at least 2 deep at every position. There are 3 spots that I would like to see bolstered before the season starts.... when I look at our roster across the board there are only a few injuries that scare me... they are:

1. WR (if either Steve Smith Sr or Perriman were to miss any time it would scare me)

2. (If Maxx Williams were to get injured)

3. (If Jimmy or Webb were to get injured).

So with that being said WR, TE and CB are still our biggest question marks. I think we COULD have people to step up in even those three positions but these 3 have the largest question marks behind the main players! Would love to see us add at least another veteran CB and another veteran WR between now and opening day!

Hope that Canty, Urban and KLM can all bounce back and give us a major contribution this season. heck even 1 of those 3 would be good! 2 of the 3 would be scary! I also hope that Pitta can be productive...If we can get production in those areas (from those guys) we could make a deep run into the post season!

It would be great if ZaDarious Smith out produces his ex-Kentucky teammate Bud Dupree over the next several years! SMith reminds me a little of Adalius Thomas!

Well, Maniac,... we definitely have some "horses" on paper and some guys who have the potential to come out of nowhere and excel with the UFA skill players,...

I too am eager to see what they do! :D

I agree with you about the UFA's potential as well. And I'm sure hoping the field looks as good as the paper does. I'm still Happy!

That's where the "trust" is with me! We're not perfect but if Ozzie & Co picks a guy, I trust they've seen something! :landry:

Of course,  :point:   the past additions of David Reed, Deonte Thompson, Laquan Williams, et.al. bench-warming WRs flies in the face of my logic!

But, in the final analysis, I'm happy too, bud!
