[News] Late For Work 5/4: 'Near Perfect' Draft, Perriman Better Than Torrey, Maxx Offensive Rookie Of Year

69 posts in this topic

Seriously who are these people doing the interviw videos with our new draft picks? Just watched the Maxx williams one and the kid representing the ravens is wearing khackis no socks and dock shoes Not even a dress shirt which was unbuttoned btw and a dirty looking jacket. Seriously he looked like a dirty kid who tossed those clothes on out of the back of his 1995 honda civic after he just got done delivering pizzas!!!!! What the heck? Ravens? That was the most embarassing unprofessional pile of crap Ive ever seen on a Proffesional team site. You cant comment on the videos so this was close enough as it links to it. What the heck?? For a second time.

you hating on the kid for what he choses to wear? seriously? First of all it could be his style choice regardless of what you think of it. Secondly, you don't know what his situation was. Maybe he just got off the plane. I know when I fly I like to be comfortable

1. Maxx Williams said he was excited to be a part of Ravens Nation. That doesn't sound selfish to me

2. Hearing that we stole Williams from the Steelers makes the pick that much sweeter. I hope he carves them up for years to come.

3. Of course Jamie Dukes gives us the lowest grade out of the bunch. Could be not be more of a Ravens Hater. I'm glad I hear less from him these days. Jamie Dukes, Skip Bayless, and Heath Evans are my most hated

I think the Ravens may have done Torrey a disservice by constantly having him run those deep routes and never really helping him develop as a route runner until last season. Torrey did exactly what was asked of him and he did it well, but it seems that the play calling made him one dimensional. I am nervous about Perriman, if he lives up to his potential it will be a first for a Ravens drafted receiver. I worry that his, and his coaches', reliance on his natural abilities might prevent him from developing better technique.

Its a bit of a mis-nomer though. On average, throughout his tenure in Baltimore, Torrey ran roughly 70-75% of his targeted routes within 20 yards of the line of scrimmage.

Perhaps not coincidentally, his production basically decreased when Kubiak came into town, because he DECREASED the number of "deep" routes he ran.

Does anybody think we would have selected Nelson agholer over perriman or think he was even on our board?

I think Maxx is a stud and I called that 2nd round pick of him, but I think Maxx won't be OROY for one reason. He plays for the Ravens. Sorry to burst everyones' bubbles but the media hates Baltimore..... Mosley was clearly the DROY last year and they gave it Aaron Donald who didn't even play as a starter all season. Even if he gets 800 yards next season, I can honestly see them going with Amari Cooper or one of the higher drafted receivers instead.

I don't see it either but more due to how we try to maintain a balanced attack. Not only run versus pass but look at all the targets that flacco now has to throw to. Just don't see Maxx getting the stats to be considered.
